Get married on a beach down south. Bring your own chairs and hire a violinist. The only cost would them be the clothes, plane tickets, music and cameraman....plus of course lodging.

There are tons of ways to save money on weddings. You have to be prepared to do some work and some shopping around though. You don't say how large of a wedding, whether they want a church or civil ceremony, and whether or not they want a reception so I'm not sure where to start. For our wedding hubby & I did most everything ourselves. He & I printed our invitations & programs. My Mom & I did the reception food and I did all the flowers. We had a church wedding where we are members and had the reception in the Fellowship Hall so we had no venue charges. I bought a pretty white formal rather than a wedding gown and he wore a nice black suit he already owned rather than rent or buy a tux. For our attendants gifts we bought the guys' ties and a friend of mine made the jewelry for my bridesmaids as a wedding gift. We did get our cake from a bakery but since we wanted chocolate we didn't tell them it was for a wedding until after we agreed on the price. We got cake for 100 people for $100. The word wedding makes everything go up in price. Try not to say it when negotiating. Also, wedding cakes are not hard to make. Ask around and you may find you know someone who will do one for a nominal fee. If you need more help feel free to email me.
