It's normal to feel the way you are given he was your first ever boyfriend and you haven't experienced other people. Two things for you here....firstly you either talk and explain this to him. Be honest about this and he should understand given how nice he is to you. Secondly, good people are hard to find, if you stuff this relationship up you may never find another person like him and resent that!! Good luck.

Four years is a long time compared to some of the relationships that I know. Where some partners hardly speak to each other. So to have this person after four years still catering to you means this person really cares about you. But what are you missing? Going out with friends? If so do so just don't do anything you may regret later and hurt someone. Ask yourself does this person fulfill your needs? Or I am with him for the pampering. If you cast him to the side be warned he may not be available for too long some other lucky girl may find him everything she was looking for. But if he does not fill your every need and you think he is not the one after four years then be fair now with him before you go looking elsewhere for what you think is missing for you. If you do it this way, you possibly can keep him as a good friend.

What you are feeling is very common when you have a first boyfriend that turns long term, you don't know if you are with him because you two are comfortable or if it's really love. Before you move to the next level you should give each other time off to see what you really want.

i am not sure how old you are, but you seem young... what will happen is that sooner or later one of you will let go so that you might figure out what you want... but if you just take the time, you will probably realize that everything you have ever wanted is right before you.... and you are going to mess that up.

MAYBE WHAT YOU FEEL YOU ARE MISSING IS A WEDDING RING. YOU HAVE NO REAL COMMITTMENT. DO YOU AND YOUR BF/(HUSBAND---COMMON LAW) NOT HAVE FUN?
WHAT IS HE NOT DOING TO OR FOR YOU THAT ANOTHER MAN COULD OR WOULD DO.----NO IT WOULD NOT BE FAIR TO HIM TO PLAY THE FIELD AND LIVE WITH HIM. WHAT WOULD YOU RESENT HIM FOR? LOVING YOU??? LISTEN TO YOUR HEART AND NOT YOUR FRIENDS. GOOD LUCK

It's totally understandable that you are having these feelings. I just hope this guy is as great as you say he is and waits around while you are sowing your oats.
