So, I work at a Bar and Grill Tavern and I work with a majority of guys. Anyways, a lot of them find it funny to tease me. Yah, I laugh and have a good time with everyone and I'm always smiling. Several are hispanic and one of them is even married. He is constantly calling me "chiquita" or "bonita", "sexy", etc. He even held my hand before I knew he was married. Another guy is also hispanic and is always saying I am his "sancha" and saying over the top sexual innuendos to me. I am only 17 and every day someone is saying something. One guy I am particularly attracted to said I was "beautiful" to another co-worker of mine. But he also is always poking my sides, scaring me, grabbing my shoulders, etc. What is up with guys feeling the need to touch you and tease a girl?? FYI I tell them to stop and push them away..especially the ones I am not interested in.

Also..is hugging inappropriate at work?

How should I handle this and why are they constantly giving me a hard time?

Has anyone else had a similar experience and why do guys behave this way......especially if they are married?! That is absolutely disrespectful to their wives/families.

Thanks for any input/advice.

First of all I would say that the guys are probable picking on you because they do like you. I would say that the one that is married is a messed up guy and I promise you that there is a possibility that that guy could try to cheat on his wife with you. Also another thing would be with all the guys messing with you is just because you are a girl and they are guys and it is easy to pick on girls. I would say that the ones that you do not like I would say that you need to let them know how you feel and if they will not stop and you feel very uncomfortable then you might want to report it to your manager. The other guy that thinks that you are beautiful then I would say (keep it going girl) He sounds like a good one. Keep hold of him.

You are sure in the wrong job! Get yourself into a healthy work environment and away from the leftovers; you are just starting out and they are wallowing in their own excrement. RUN!

There are jobs out there where you will look forward to going to work and never have to ask a question like this. It might even have people your age, with your same hopes and opinions, you could actually find new friends and then you can talk about that job you had where there were these yucky over-the-hill bar flies.....

My sister faced something similar when guys at a pizza joint decided to lock her in the freezer and grab her inappropriately. This is sexual harassment (touching goes beyond the limits). Don't put up with this, report this to your manager, if he/she won't listen find another job, file a complaint against the company. Life's too short to put up with this garbage.

find another job, it seems like everywhere you go, you are getting treated badly. According to your previously asked questions, you worked at a movie theater, then a few days later; a bar-be-que tavern. Maybe you are doing something wrong. I mean, you've gotten enough advice, maybe you should put it to good use instead of asking the same questions... :)

sometimes i've hugged coworkers that i know really well - i don't think it's necessarily inappropriate as long as both people are fine with it and it's not sexual. your work environment sounds kind of disrespectful of your limits. people shouldn't be saying sexual innuendos at work to you. i think they're the ones to blame for this problem, not you. be very clear about your boundaries and if you feel really uncomfortable you may want to talk to your boss. not all work environments are like this. best of luck to you.

anything that makes you uncomfortable is inappropriate at work. i know that sounds cliche but it is true. go to your immediate supervisor and talk to them about the treatment you receive and they should help you out. good luck

It's all sexual harassment. Tell your employer that if it doesn't stop that you are going to sue him
