Every state has different laws, but basically this is how it goes. If you signed at the dealership and took delivery you basically own the car. If you signed at home, that is someone brought the paperwork to you, you have 48 hours after delivery. Once you sign those loan papers you own it basically. Again, every state is different.

Not only will you get a hard time, they will probably smile and show you the door. Your only recourse is to prove fraud or prove the car is a lemon.

You really shouldnt get any problems as long as the reason you are returning it is covered by any sort of agreement you may have made/signed. What reason are you returning it? is it deffective in a way the Dealer did not tell you? I'd say, you should talk it over with them, any real business should have a time period in which you have the right with no argument to return a product, should apply to vehicles as well. I returned a vehicle due to a lie on the dealer's part. which became a problem when i took it to be inspected after purchase.. bringing it to their attention.. they willingly agreed to give me the money back. Beware of bad business men/women. Some will give you trouble, some will be absolute heck. If you have a honest reason for returning the car, Most if not all good businesses will accept it. Best of luck.

Yeah, he'll grumble & grouse, even try to talk you out of it. But, under the Federal Lemon Law and other consumer protection acts, you are allowed to return merchandise (ever cars) within a certain time period.

That time period changes from state to state so DON'T HESITATE.

Best bet is to try to work something out. In New Jersey they do have a new call return law within 3days, I think..

Good Luck

You will have to give a valid explanation why you took it in the first place. Be prepared for a haggle.

Yes, even if it is their policy to let you bring it back, they will make an attempt to get you to keep the car. Stick to your guns.
