I asked her out to dinner on campus last week and it fell through. i honestly believe she wasn't Avoiding me. I want to ask for her number before thanksgiving break. but i kinda want to go slow and ask after the break. what should i do?

No, ask before the break, then she will think of you over the break. And you can say I hope you have a nice thanksgiving. She'll think of you at home.

If you really believe she wasn't avoiding you then I'd ask her next time you see her. Getting her number isn't rushing things.

Why don't you give her your number and tell her you'd like to go out after break please give me a call? That puts her in a good postion; she will trust you and think you're sincere
