I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.
GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition. Even though I took these GNC pills for 4 months, I wouldn't recommend them because they are not the most high quality pills available.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that
http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...
This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.
I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.
The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.
My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.
The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth.

A haircut is always traumatizing, no matter how little they cut off. So if it is obviously shorter, it is hard to get over it.
You unfortunately cannot have your long hair back again, not so soon anyway. As others suggested, you could try hair extensions, those might be fun but costly, or you could come up with fun styles for your new hair cut, to make it more fun. I notice when I use a straight iron, it makes my hair so much longer ( because it is naturally curly) so you might want to try that - depending on your hair texture. Just remember, your hair doesnt change who you are, you still have your pretty face and most importantly ( is that correct english - lol) your personality.
Eventually, your hair will grow back out ... be patient.

Sometimes you roll the dice...
Whatever you ingest to supposedly make your hair grow faster (prenatal vitamins, protein, etc.), it's still going to take time. You just can't take whatever has already been suggested tonight and have your hair back in the morning (I know, it's a lovely thought, but that's all it is). It's going to take time.
In the meantime, work with what you have and be grateful that you have hair on your head. There are women who have undergone chemo for cancer or even have alopecia universalis who would love to have even the slightest growth on their heads. Things could indeed be worse.
So try some new things with the hair you have now. I won't go into details as I see there have already been some good suggestions here already.
So don't sweat it, sweetie! It's not the end of the world!
And your boyfriend should stick by you despite how he feels about your new cut. And if he doesn't, forget him! There are guys out there who'll eye you for you and not your hair.

Just give it time and you may well get used to it. It may just be a big shock to the system at this stage. The only cure for if you really do hate it is to wait a few months for it to grow back. Or go to another hairdresser for another opinion as just because you hate what it looks like now doesnt mean it cannot be improved on by a different person ideas. It cannot do any harm when you dont like what you have know.

okay, well.. there are vitamin supplements that you could take daily that will speed up the growth of your hair, this is a long process that may not meet your expectations. i would highly recommend getting hair extensions. you could get them at your local hair salon and they're speedy and look natural! but before you go and blow your money on doing so, give it some time and see if it maybe grows on you. good luck.
PS- i had bleach blonde hair for about three years and i just dyed my hair brown and i hate it. know your not alone and we all have those bad hair days every once in a while!

aw, my friend has the same problem!:(I personally think she still looks great, though, so your hair probably isn't that bad.
here, i got this from wikihow:
How to deal with a bad hair cut:
# Make sure your clothing looks great on you.
# Get your make up updated and pretty.
# Do your nails.
# Get some great clips/hairbands for your hair
# Be patient! Your hair will grow and you can get it re-styled.
# Hair will grow faster in the heat and if you eat plenty of protein.
#get highlights to add more depth(this depends on the type of your hair, though. Go with a friend and ask what colour would be good so you don't show up to work/school looking like a skunk)

Since you have cut the hair, let it grow in its natural speed. Never apply a cream or oil that cliams to have effect on the growth of your hair. Think twise if the so called artificial stuffs spoils your head and loosing more hair is worst right ?
As a alternate till the hair grows, just use a hat or cap and change your dress code to look nice with your cap or hat combination.

Tie your hair up in a pony tail... or pin it up so it is out of your face and is similar to a pony tail.. that way your haircut simply looks like you've tied your hair up...
take vitamins, multivitamins or the vitamins that are specific to hair and nails.. it will help your hair grow a little faster. I've also found that when washing your hair, that massaging the scalp will stimulate hair growth. Don't worry... your hair will grow faster then you think.

Hey, perspective! Not to worry, it will grow back, in the meantime you can use jells/and some products that will jazz it up and give it playful dimension. Have fun with it, life is so very short. Your boyfriend loves you for you, the hair is just a nice secondary adoration.

i had mine cut back in April, and it still looks horrible. i used to have really short hair in school, but then i let it grow long- i got one of those new short and "dupey" haircuts and hated it. but , i put it up in different styles with mousse and it helps a little. give it about 11/2 months and cut your split ends-- and try not going back to the same beautician, if you did. just try different tricks with it and hopefully it will train. hope this helps! ps , its not your hair but whats inside, i hope your boyfriend will see that!
