I run 1 hour daily, which is about 5 miles, 5 times a week. And I'd like to add 1 protein bar to my diet per day to help my muscles repair quicker.

Will this make me gain any weight?

Based upon my knowledge...you should not gain any weight. Protein is what will help build muscles. And for the calorific factor, think about how many calories you burn while running versus your intake against the calories in the protein bar. I think your OK either way. Protein bars are healthy.

With a 5-mile run in an hour workout you do not need to worry about the impact of one protein bar on your weight. It will actually be helpful.

However, choosing a good bar is important. Protein bars vary immensely. Some have uneeded fats, sugars, sodium, etc.
I reccommend high protein, low fat, and low sugar. Good carbs and calories give you energy to replenish after your run! Bars: Pria by Power Bar, Regular Power Bar, Balance. Just read the label and see what's best for you.

you don,t want protein for running you need carbohydrate - an energy drink or something similar. You burn off fat when you are running and it improves your stamina and cardio-vascular system. Running is high impact and so in the long term is bad for your joints you would be better cycling or doing step-ups To put on muscle you need to do weights increasing resistance to specific muscle groups that's when you need protein.
