My ceremony was @ 4pm and my reception @ 6. I got hair and makeup around 10 am, and by the time I was dancing my first dance my hair was l-i-m-p!!! But my makeup was still in place because I used Benefit's Shelaq-it's a humidity-resistant makeup sealant that keeps your face looking perfectly bridal :) My advice for the hair is have your bridesmaid's hair done first, and wait to do yours until around 3pm. After all, your hair does take precedent! And make sure your hair is "dirty", or hasn't been washed in a day. It will hold a style much better than hair that is freshly washed and set. And LOTS of hairspray like Redken 23 spray that is humidity resistant and doesn't make your hair all crispy. Hope this helps and congratulations!

I have done a few weddings with a 4:30 ceremony time...one bride had a suite and her hair & make-up people came to her. All of the bridesmaids and mothers were also getting hair and make-up, so we had to start at 7:30AM. I know it sounds early, but with 6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers and an hour for the bride...we didn't really have much of a choice (luckily the 3 flower girls didn't take as long as we expected)! You also need to factor in picture time before the ceremony.
If I was you, I would consider having the hair dresser, or whoever, put the tiara one for you when they do your hair. That way they will be able to pin it down and style your hair around it...instead of having it look like it was just slapped on at the last minute.

Basically, you can't have it done too early. Your hair and makeup will last all day, so don't worry about it started to fade. Give yourself more time than you think you'll need, and then you'll feel less stressful on your day. My hair and makeup took about two hours. Pictures took about three hours.
One suggestion I would make: Do not put on your dress and then sit in a car for half an hour. You'll get your dress wrinkled, crunch your veil, etc. And trust me, it is not comfortable sitting in a wedding dress. Keep the dress at your ceremony location or even throw it in the trunk. Put it on when you get there. Good luck!

My wedding was in June and at 4:00 and I got my hair done at 10 and it stayed just fine. That was with my headpiece and veil. I did my makeup my self at the church at about 11:30 for the pictures and it stayed fine so I assume you should be okay but maybe being outside will make a difference.

I would hold off on the makeup till the last minute possible, as far as the hair, with enough hairpray, it should hold, you could do it earlier. You need to find out how long your hairdresser and make-up artist will need to do it, and then bascially subtract from the time you have to be there...get up with them first and make plans accordingly. Also, even if u do go ahead and do your makeup earlier, definetly wait until after you have your hair done, heat from rollers, curling irons, straighteners, all styling products can cause melt-down. good luck!

Relax as long as you can, in the most comfortable position as you can. Get your hair and make-up done 2-3 hours before you need to be at the ceremony.

I say don't do the h/m untill 2:00 that should give you plenty of time to put on your dress at your house, & get to the garden by 4:00 for pre-Wedding pictuers
Remember you are going to want to eat a light lunch around 12:00, so you don't want your make-up on before then.

relies upon on what hairstyle... makeup approximately 20 min at cutting-edge hair 20 min... spiral curls approximately 35 min... wavy approximately 10 min... organic hair approximately 5 min... so its probley equivalent because of the fact i do at cutting-edge and spiral a rather good variety of the time :)
