I was having a conversation with someone yesterday about how having a ritual can help in letting go of someone. When thinking about rituals pagan and wiccan rituals came to mind. I'm not pagan or wiccan myself I'm agnostic however I have read a bit into both. I suppose my mind popped to witchcraft first because I like the thought put in to the spells and rituals. So when it comes to letting go of friends, family, or other loved ones, what ritual or spell do you or would you use? Is there some importance to you about that ritual or spell that helps you move on? Any links on the matter would be great to. I didn't have much luck on Google, to many money making websites lol.

By the way I'm not just speaking of someone who has died. Just lost in general be it death or parting of ways.

I am not a pagan or wiccan but I have also read a bit about their religion. I have been very attracted to the naturalist observances they have and the use of ritual. I think even as a nonreligious person rituals and life marking ceremonies and observances fill a psychology need for most of us. I have incorporated some into my life in a naturalist, nonsupernatural way. One simple letting go of a relationship ritual I know is to take something that is a symbol of the relationship and think about releasing your emotions and then burn the item. I found this link below describing this and also suggesting writing a letter and another site about constructing your own personal rituals.

Anytime you perform magick be it minor or major you must use caution. The best advice I'd offer is to sit in a favorite place you shared with the person who passed. bring a few Items that remind you of them. If you can light a candle and perhaps some incense. Turn the lights down if you wish. Sit in this place and remember your loved one. Think of how happy they are and ask the question you are asking. Let them know you miss them and that you want to let go. This is not a ritual or spell persay. It is a form of meditation. You may or may not sense your friend. But you will have a private moment to let your feelings out. Good luck and BB Sdw

"paganism" isn't a faith. It's a institution of religions. As such, there aren't any designated rituals or ideals to "paganaism." Each pagan faith has its possess. Wicca is one such faith. Spells aren't inherent to paganism. Spells are magic. Most men and women in historical past, without reference to faith, have believed in magic. Wicca is a 70 yr historical faith. If you may have heard whatever approximately Wicca farther again than that, you want larger assets. Stories you may have heard approximately paganism might or is probably not proper, they usually definitely might had been generalized due to the fact, once more, paganism is not a designated faith or institution of men and women.

Light a stick of incense and think about the person you lost. As the smoke rises, picture your thoughts being delivered to that person via smoke.

I'd also suggest casting a circle for your protection first.

we recently lost someone from our circle, and had a celebration of her life--it wasn't exactly a ritual, but it was what worked for us
