I never see the alleged sex addict with any females ... he's always alone. I know he's not gay, but I don't see "honeys" around either. I thought he was a loner. I knew he likes one female, but they don't date. It seems like a portrait of two different people. I have seen "horn dogs" and this guy is not one. He's only mentioned sex to me once. He said he likes to do oral on females. I thought it might be a hint. Oh yeah! There was the day he said a certain female thought he was sleeping with me. We're not. What do you think he is.. a loner, an addict, or interested in me?

Sex drive varies widely in humans, and what one person would consider a "normal" sex drive might be considered excessive by some and low by others. This means that it can only be considered (clinically) 'sex addiction' when the behavior causes distress or impaired social functioning. (Let's face it - the only truly abnormal sexual behaviour is no sex at all...)
He might be a loner, he might be interested in you, and/or he might like sex. However, I don't think he meets the criteria for 'sex addict'...

When people say someone's a sex addict, they generally just mean they're really horny. It's a term people like to throw around casually.
If he was actually talking about a clinical diagnosis, it means he has a compulsion to seek out sex the same way an addict seeks out drugs. Just because you don't see someone with girls doesn't mean they can't be a sex addict. They may sneak around, or their issue may be with porn, chat lines, etc.
You actually probably wouldn't see it--it would be something he would try to hide. Gay or not, sex addicts may indiscriminately have sex with anyone of any gender, under any circumstances. That's the addiction part.

a sex addict is someone who turns to sex in times of emotional highs or lows... he gets in a fight, he has sex, he gets a good grade, he has sex. like booze or anything else addictive, sex becomes the way of coping with the world.
