Ok...I have never been over weight, but I came close to it. For my height I was almost there...about 5 lbs later and I would have been. My weight saver was weight lifting, drinking plenty of water, and working out at least three times a week (walking, jogging, sit ups, weight lifting, swimming) practically anything for at least twenty minutes a day. I was taking weight lifting in high school to get out of P.E. Little did i know it was going to change my life, self esteam, and total image of myself completely. But it was great..since you are only 14, maybe when you get to high school (or if your middle school already provides it) you can take weight lifting. You basically burn way more calories than you consume IF you consume the average amount needed a day- 2,000.
yes..you have to count calories to keep track. Once you get used to it it becomes a part of your life and it is just something you do...not a hassle. So the bottom line is this...
Eat only 2,000 calories a day (working out or not) that is what your body needs to survive. If you want to loose some weight, eliminating 100 calories from 2,000 will help you loose weight.
Drink plenty of water. It helps your body stay healthy and hydrated.
Keep track of your calories. If you eat too many and don't exercise enough you'll gain more weight.
and...last but not least exercise (even if it's just walking) twenty minutes a day. All of these things combined will help you see results in about a month or two.
You must be patient about these things. You didn't gain weight over night, and you're not going to loose it over night either...
Good luck with it all...It really does help.

Personal satisfaction can come from many areas. Losing weight is a major concern for a good majority of people. Unfortunately a good majority of those who are unsatisfied lack the motivation to achieve that satisfaction. They push for a while but then get discouraged. My major piece of advice before you choose an appropriate exercise program is to understand that you will not "see" the changes for a month up to three months. You must understand that taking pride in what you are doing will help you achieve your goal of becoming thiner. With that piece of advice the first step I recommend is deciding on what your overall goal is. The process of achieving your desired figure strictly depends on these goals. Then design of your workout plan should be around cardio with minor strength training. If I were in your situation, with the basis of starting at ground zero, I would start going to the gym maybe two or three times a week to help loosen up the muscles and begin the building process. After about three or four weeks of a basic training program I would re-evaluate my goals and orientate them to my current progress. During those first three weeks concentrate on bringing your muscles up to a basic level and a minor cardio base. Concentrate on core muscles by doing basic lifts with free weights, bars, and most of all a cycle machine or running for cardio. Do not be afraid to walk the track instead of running it. Remember where you are trying and doing many others are not even attempting and that is where you should take great pride. Keep it basic do not exceed one set for each of the lifts you do and keep it a minimum weight. I highly recommend talking with a PE or any fitness instructor at your school. They will be more than able and happy to assist you with getting started. I guarantee after a month of progress you will be able to determine you own path and have much success following it. The question you asked is broad and hard to conceive a specific program which can be your blazing arrow to your goal. So just keep in mind a basic start can get you a long ways.

Congratulations on wanting to start looking after yourself : )ok instead of aiming to be thin, you should aim at being a healthy weight then go from there. If you aim to high you will more then likely unfortunately fall and not want to get back up.
First off you need to change your diet, go talk to your Mum and tell her to stock the fridge up with fruit, veggies, low fat yoghurt's, and all that good stuff. Maybe even get a calorie book.
You need to start doing exercise being at your weight don't start off to hard just aim to go for a walk every afternoon/morning, then next week aim for a brisk walk then onto a jog. Just to build up your anaerobic fitness. Swimming is a good sport because it works all of your body and you don't get fatigued so much. go on to harder exercises gradually building up each week. You should also start some resistance training..I recommend making up a table for what you are going to eat every week and what exercises. You should always be burning more then your putting in. It wont be easy but you will do fine if your focused

Here are some hints
Losing weight is about permanently changing what you eat.
It is not a temporary diet.
Do not listen if your parents tell you to "clean your plate"
Food is so cheap in America it is now better to waste it than to eat it and wear it as fat later.
Give up desserts.
Eat one portion of whatever it is that you like to eat.
Find an activity that you really like and do that as exercise everyday.
If you do not have an activity that you like, then start to walk.
Try to walk 2 miles per day.
Good luck.

You need to exercise and eat less. After a few days you get used to the amount of food your eating. sounds like youll be good if you loose about 40 to 50 pounds. Just keep up good eating habbits and dont be lazy(for life). I like coffee to kill my appetite. When your hungry or maybe a little a half hour before you eat. Eat chicken and never order fries and soda when you eat. Just find a few healthy things you like and stick to them. You could drop a 2 or 3 pounds a week.

My son had a weight problem when he was 12-13. We modified his eating habits and woke him up to exercize every morning. He is now slim and trim with muscle tone. he is now 14. It took alot out of us to listen to his whining and moaning about exercizing but in the end it paid off, now he does it all on his own. My advice to you would be watch your quantity of food and exercize. Its not what you eat it's how much of it you eat. Make your biggest meal breakfast because it will give you the energy for the rest of the day. My son eats 6 times a day. breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner-snack. Breakfast is the largest and the rest are portion controlled.

Do not eat any more fast food........ever..........eat salads, fruits vegetables, cereals, eggs, toast, cottage cheese, turkey, chicken lean ground beef, fish, no sweets........ok, hard candy is ok like 4 pieces a week....Just use your head......it will be hard to diet, but if you want to lose bad enough you will do it. (good luck.).
Once you lose your weight, then have a cheeseburger every other week...(lean gr. beef) you make at home..........exercise by walking everyday for the rest of your life at least 30 min a day....won't kill anyone...By the time someone complains enough about the 30 minutes, they could have walked it.

excersize and eat right
do weight training one day and cardio the next. for the best results with cardio it is best if you split your workout into 2 seperate workouts, like swimming or running in the morning and biking or sports in the afternoon. than and a healthy diet will get results
