I wouldn't say its too old, cause my sis who wore braces when she was 32 and only turned out to have a even prettier smile and is now 33. I wore retainers when i was 20 and i also remember my doctor talking about "Braces and Age". He said, there is nothing really like a specific age for wearing braces, If the bone and gum tissue around the teeth are healthy, age is not a factor, as he's had clients who are above 60+ and even attended to a 73 yr old. However the only reason on why they insist on getting braces at a younger age is, its easier to correct them, as it also depends on the growth of the jaw structure and they might not have to pull your tooth out, to make space. However all this depends on the individual. Also I'm 23 years old now and will turn 24 next February, that's when I'll be getting mine. So my point is, your not old, just go get it and you wont care once its over, all you'll be left with is a wonderful SMILE!

Unlike some of your answers, this one is actually based on a close experience. My boyfriend is almost 24, and just recently got braces. His teeth were too bad to get the invisiline kind, so he did have to get the normal silver colored braces. It's really not that bad, you won't look like a dorky teenager, more adults are choosing to get braces these days because their parents never had it done for them. And even if you were 40, it's not too late because your teeth does NOT fall out at a certain age lol it's all according to how well you have taken care of them...and if they are too bad for braces. Some cosmetic dental surgury may need done if it is too bad. But to answer your question, no, 25 is not too old to have braces :)

I am 30 and have just gotten braces - I have two kids!!. I was embarassed at first but now understand that 25% of the people who have braces are above 21!! that is a pretty high number. It is not that bad trust me.
What you need to check with your dentist is how long will the braces stay on. Mine were supposed to stay on for 6 months and apparently my teeth were moving very well (faster than expected), but it is already 7 months and my dentist is telling me it will be atleast another 3 months. Given the track record, I think the original plan of 6 months will now be 12 months .. lets hope these come off soon. however, I think I will miss them ;(

nicely, sweetie, hate to break it to you, even though it not in any respect ends. i'm 24 and that i look about 17. I have 2 youthful children which makes the appearance worse! Ha! i have discovered to brush aside the appearance through the years. I comprehend that being 14 would make this a large deal, yet imagine of it, even as your 40 5 and also you look 30, you'd be loving it. :) :) :) One tip, carry your self nicely. see you later as you carry your self in a mature count number, most of the time human beings will capture on. attempting to make your self look older will make maximum persons imagine you're a 12 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous attempting to be 16. i have been there. there is not some thing fairly you may do to look older, with the exception of slathering your self in make-up and a fabulous aray of styling products. Even then, that would now and again backfire. you'll hit upon a stability, in spite of the actuality that. one project a pal of mine did even as she replaced into youthful (she's 5' and looks 12 and she or he's 22!) replaced into chorus from vivid and frilly outfits. some thing that looked 'youthful' she prevented; she did not run round with each and everything brilliant out, or in a button up in structure- she got here across a stability. reliable good fortune to you, hun!! ?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!! I got braces at 49 years old. My braces came off 2 weeks ago after only 20 months of treatment. The first time I looked at my teeth after getting my braces off, I had tears in my eyes. I could not believe the difference. Go for it and don't put it off any longer. It's well worth the time and money!

As long as you have healthy bone structure , you can have braces. People that are 50 , 60 are wearing braces. Invisaling is another option ,If you are a candidate for it. I had braces when I was 22 years. Then my teeth moved because I didnot wear my retainer. At 38 I decided to wear them again. Now I know that retainer are for ever. You need to wear the retainer to hold your teeth from moving again at least one time a week for as long as you live. Take care of your smile !

Age is No Barrier when it comes to braces.
The largest age group in braces is people between the ages of 22 and 29, with the age group of 30 to 39 coming in second.

Not at all. People can get braces up until their mid 60's-70's. I recently met a lady in her 50's who has them...and not invisalign-just regular braces. Not everyone can get invisalign, as it depends on how serious the case is. If it's not serious then u can get invisalign. Anyhow, I'm 22 with braces and it doesn't affect my daily life. So go for it :-)

An orthodontist once told me that you are never too old to have braces until the teeth aren't the ones you were born with.....

He did say though that Invisa-Line worked as good as NOT having braces at all. He discourages his patients from wasting their money on them. He told me that you can get a football mouth guard a whole lot cheaper & it wouldn't work either....
