Jordon almost got it right. IF you marry your boyfriend and get his green cards, it will be a conditional green card. Then 2 years from then you must prove to immigration that you two have been living together as husband and wife. That is form I-751 which at this time costs $205. You will have to submit this within the 90 days prior to the 2 year anniversary date. Once immigration decides to remove the conditional statues on the green card, you will then receive a green card that will be good for 10 years, but in 3 years he can apply to become a citizen of the USA.
So from the very start of dealing with immigration, it will take him a minimum of 5 years.
Currently immigrations is backlogged and are around 6 month behind schedule. So good luck and learn to be patient with immigration.

These people dont know crap about what they're talking about. FBI dont even get involve with that. Thats the responsability of DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY.
He gotta get a green card first, he can do that through marriage or work. if you marry him it will take 6 to 8 months to get a green card. (3 to get the work permit) Once he get the green card. Since the day he gots it, he have to wait 3 years, if hes still married with you, if he gets divorce he gotta wait 5, in order to apply for his citizenship. With the work permit you can apply for your social security

If he has a green card then the process usually takes few years for the FBI to process it (actually it could take from few months to few years), once that is done it wont take long.
You might want to go to their website INS and find out the exact information there or by giving them a call.
Good luck

I consider you have got to observe for citizenship and take the scan. You have got to do anything to provoke the system. Someone is not only going to come back out to you and invite you. I consider upon getting the fairway card, the following steps cross instead effortlessly. Good good fortune.

It took my wife a couple of years. This takes time. Do realize everytime you check your status or file new paperwork they pull the file from the pile and it goes back to the pile with the people who are filing for that day. Kinda like sending you to the back of the line every time you ask a question.
