I'm a Christian, but I don't impose my religion harshly on people. . .no offense or anything, but there are so many different kinds of Christians who don't believe the same exact thing; yet, there are universal ideas. So yeah. . .

Christians all believe one thing in common: Jesus died for their sins. Everything else is just "details". How to get to heaven, when or if you need to be baptized, what the Holy Communion is in matter and function, how the church should be organized, how and when humankind is to be judged, the substance and location of heaven and hell....

All of these things form a Christian's attitudes and values about the meaning and value of life. The only real reason for one to assume that everyone believes the exact same things in both principle and practicality is blind ignorance of other belief structures and ideals.

I am, frankly, quite impressed with the numer of respondents who have completely missed the point of your question... Where did you mention atheism?

I've discovered the secret to this one. Christians are under the impression that atheists such as myself believe in god, deep down. And I'm rebelling against him.

The only thing I can say is, apparently they weren't there the day I got on my knees and prayed, at approximately 15 years of age, and begged god to give me the strength to continue being a Christian. Because I could see no logical reason to believe he existed anymore. All I had was my faith, and it was slipping away. There has never been a Christian more reluctant to become an atheist.

That doesn't fit my definition of rebellion. Not sure what theirs is.

Well, as for me I just assume that since we live in a world that has basically already heard the truth that people are wise enough to accept it and believe it. I actually DO find it hard to believe when I meet someone who isn't a Christian. I don't know how people can hear truth and not recognize it in their soul or worse yet, if they DO recognize it, refuse it.

As a Christian I feel an obligation (as is written in the Bible) to tell them the truth. If I don't their blood is on my hands. I don't want anyone going to hell because I was too afraid of "hurting their feelings" to tell them about God and how not to die in their sins. I don't try to offend people but there are those who are offended by the mention of the name of God. Look at how our own country is trying to remove "one nation under God" from the pledge of allegiance. If we don't stand up to this what does that say about us and our faith?

I'm with you on that one! Some people are so narrow-minded and presumptious and present Christianity as a one size fits all type of thing. I try to be a voice saying there are a variety of beliefs and views out there amongst Christians.

If a lot of people (Christians especially) would read and understand what the Lord is trying to tell us in the whole 12th Chapter of 1Corinthians. All of this division could be done away with... Take a look...

I most certainly don't either.

But, let's face it, these hypocrites get outed because of their arrogance, or their ignorance, or both, and in other cases it has to do with their being completely misinformed by their pastors... i.e., the false prophets of their flocks as in "the blind leading the blind."

And there are many who attain that Messianic-complex and become wannabe preachers themselves! They simply can't resist to "save every soul" they come across and bug the heck out of total strangers, insisting that ONLY THEY KNOW the road to salvation and that is by joining their church!

LOL.

Peace be with you.

I'm assuming that they are parrotting what was told them, without having had too many real heavy burdens or life experiences. If they really knew the magnitude of the burden Christ carries for us, they would be very very quiet. Probably like I ought to be. But it seems that way to me. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't believe that Christians think that,
because no one believes that all the other religions believe in them
Look at all the question??
Bashing, ridicule,cursing God, mockery
They lure you into their question with what sounds like a christian
question, then they start bashing God
that grieves me to see that,
I don't believe that they know what they are doing, because they don't know the Word
Not all do this, just some and it seems to be growing
So No! What would we think that??

thats because you haven't truly taken up your cross and followed Jesus.

It Gods command to continue to share the word and help people come to him. To live your life just for this world when you know who Jesus is, is a sin to keep it to yourself.

You don't have to cram it down peoples throats and when some Chrstians do that my feeling is at least they are doing more than lazy Christians doing nothing.

If your a Christians then you should teach Christ, thats what they do and if you don't you need to evaluate what a Christian is

Mark 16:15-16
15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
