I found this reading quite difficult to get an understanding of.
The Prophet Muhammad from the Koran seems to take a different approach to Christianity. I would appreciate your thoughts about this.

The Prophet was a great man, a great leader or the Arabic people; before he came they were nomads in the desert, he brought them the Holy Qur'An and a new way of living; a code of ethics that purified them and made them strong. But like Jesus (God's peace be upon him) meant his message for all people, not just his disciples and those whom he met on his travels, so too the Prophet's message was meant for all mankind.

The Koran teaches that all you must do is believe in God and prepare yourself for the day of judgment (repent of sin and change your sinful ways) and you will go to heaven, whether you are Christian, Muslim or Jew. Muslims recognize Allah as the God of the Christians and Jews as well as themselves. They recognize Jesus, Moses, and Abraham as great prophets. However, they do not recognize the divinity of Christ because to them it is heresy that God could be limited in any way, for God is absolute power beyond imagination, so for Him to take on a human form would be putting a limit on Himself.

The Qur'an itself doesn't talk much about Muhammad.

It talks mainly (some would think it ironic, but not I) about Maryam (The Virgin Mary) and about Isa (Jesus).

The major difference between Christianity and Islam is the belief in Jesus.

Christian believe that "the father" is Jesus's father and that there exists a "trinity."

Muslims believe that Jesus was just as human as Muhammad and Moses and Abraham, and that Jesus is just mono-parented (only has a mom).

The other differences in belief are that Muslims think that Jesus was NOT crucified and that instead God took him up and sent a similar looking man to replace him and be crucified.

Muslims believe that Jesus is the Messiah and that he is alive now and is waiting to come back.

I't hard to learn about the prophet Muhammad, because most of the info about him came from Hadith, which is a collection of writings, that are MOST LIKELY true, but not as concretely true as the Qur'an.

Sorry, I really don't have any books, etc. to recommend because I haven't finished any of the ones I've started.

Go to your local Mosque and ask there.

Peace be with you. Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him recieved the Quran from the attitude Gabriel from Allah (God). i spotted that a pair of the comments above are disrespectful and don't make experience. Muhammed (pbuh) became illiterate so he could no longer make it up (he had his trustworthy companions write it). How would desire to you're saying that the Quran is from a demon or devil while that's telling to worship in one God and continuously seek for refugee from devil. How would desire to a holy e book communicate approximately peace and team spirit no rely if that's from devil. I see that some human beings have not have been given any wisdom approximately Islam and that they anticipate issues earlier examining issues. i'm hoping you study greater approximately Islam and learn the reality.

the original language of the Quran is truly a miracle language that no way a human can come up with. anyone read the original language of the Quran knows ride away that it's from his Lord.

and Muhammad didn't write the Quran if that what you meant. Muhammad cannot read or write, neither read the bible or Torah. but if u still have doubt, then compare Muhammad words "hadith" with the words of the Quran, you will see alot of differences, it's not the same identity.

the translations of the Quran seems little bit hard to read because of all the sub-explanation they add to it in the verse. and i believe one of the reasons they add many details explanation inside the verse, is because whoever translate the Quran become very careful to not do mistakes or changing the word of God without knowledge. because there are words in the Quran which cannot be translated accurately. so the translator trys to get the meaning as best as he can, but still will never be 100% perfect. the original language of the Quran is very much unique.

Well, I had problems reading it too but some of the approaches taken as explained to me by muslim friends seem logical, sometimes more logical than christianity.

That said, i have a huge problem with the muslim concept of apostasy. (Christians used to kill "heretics" 100s of years ago too but we seem to have outgrown that.)

If the faith is so great, it should not be forced down people's throats. They should chose it freely and chose to stay freely. I believe moderate muslimns take that approach but the Islamists certainly do not.

in fact iamnot quite sure that i understood u right , but i can tell u , that we , believe that our prophet muhammed (pbuh) is just a prophet and our teacher of islam , and the best of mankind, but although we love him so much , we don't worship him , unlike christianity , that made jesus(pbuh) as son of god, we worship god only, and the quran is his true word , which haven't been changed since it was revealed to the prophet since over1400 ,years.and the last revelation for all mankind.

Go into history. Not the stuff the moslems are selling, but straight history of the time this guy lived. Oh, by the way, I hope you like bloody stories of the sword, because that was one of his favorite ways of spreading his new cult. Don't believe me, though. Read. Notice also how things in that cult haven't changed much. They're still killing like there's no tomorrow.

I think of Mohammad about the same as I do Budda, the Sun god, Baal and a few other minor gods.
