My boyfriend is supposed to be coming home soon from fighting overseas. I have gained weight since he last saw me and I want to be looking good when he gets here. I want to join a program, but with so many options I don't know what to use. Can you guys guide through your own experiences?

I recomend Weight Watchers because it's cheaper and you can eat what ever you want , just limit portion size. I lost 30 lbs. in four months on that diet. You don't have to go forever, I just joined, got instructions and bought a couple of guide books for the whole package it's $25 and did it on my own. You only have to go to meetings for support. If you have any self control you can do it on your own. Good Luck!

Last year Consumer Reports did a comparison of all the weight loss programs you mention and more. Weight Watchers came out as the best. The program consists of whole foods for the most part, there is group support and people who did WW kept the weight off after folks on the other programs gained it back.

I used Weight Watchers and lost weight rather quickly. You eat normal foods in proper portions. You can eat any time of the day as long as you don't eat beyond the points.
The meetings are only once a week and you don't weigh yourself inbetween. Also most affordable.

Jenny Craig is expensive and many don't like the foods either. Plus you still have to purchase grocery foods as well.
Nutrisystem is similar.

I use the Weight Watchers point system, and lost 45lbs. so far! It is so easy and it works if you stick to it religiously. The books are kind of expensive, but well worth it! You might be able to find the books on e-bay. Look in the phone book for a WW meeting place close to you. Or the good old web!
Good luck!

In 2 months I have lost 21 pounds. I joined sparkpeople.com Its free, it gives you meal guides, and there are forums and support groups to help you through it.
If you have problems with portion conrtol, buy a few frozen dinners. After eating those, fill the largest side with veggies, and the two others with a meat and grain. Honestly, you will lose weight by doing that (cutting out soda) without having to excersize.

Weight Watchers will teach you how to eat right for life. You will not lose tons of weight fast, but you will be doing it right and you will keep the weight off. The other diets use pills and fake meals - you can't expect to do that your whole life!
Do weight watchers, do it right the first time, and keep it off.

I've used weight watchers and thought it was great. If you really want to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle, and stay at a healthy weight, follow it. Remember, its important to eat a balanced diet, not just one thing you like all day every day :)

My mom lost a whole bunch of weight with 'Weight Watchers' and she looks great! She was always writing down her 'points' after we ate, but it totally paid off! I was really impressed.

My best friend did the south beach diet and she lost a ton of weight too, but she was miserable and craved tomatoes for like 3 months aterwards... weird
