Absolutely.
To rid ourselves of "Body Thetans" and also “engrams” (past negative experiences stored in our unconscious mind) so that we can become “clear”, we have to go through "auditing" with a member of the “church” who uses an "e-meter" to measure our “reactive mind”...... and we have to pay lots and lots and lots of money for “auditing” (purchased in 12.5-hour blocks, costing anywhere from $750 for introductory sessions to between $8,000 and $9,000 for advanced sessions) and to take courses on Scientology to advance to higher “levels” in the “church”. The “church” has also taken a very hostile stance towards psychiatry and psychiatric drugs irrespective of the fact that some people require medication to remain adequately functional in everyday life. They deny the reality of chemical imbalance and profound mental disturbance and accordingly do NOTHING to effectively stabilize the dangerously unstable. The “church” has been known to withhold prescription pharmaceuticals from member (with deadly results).
They claim that you can spend less money on Scientology than you would on a psychiatrist and their drugs, but consider the prices of all the books, all the auditing, all the tests you have to take to attain higher levels (and if you fail, you have to pay to retest).

Yep. You could only read the secret documents when you go to a certain point in the religion, and you couldn't get there without paying large sums of money for tests to show you were ready. But you can read the documents online for free. They are mostly about aliens inhabiting human bodies. Kinda what you would expect from a science fiction writer, but his books are much cheaper.

Yes they charged a lot of money, but the doctrines where not a secret. They are for everyone. Any way they are all misconstrued. That mickey mouse artist who became the Guru and leader of the Cult just took one part of the Vedas and made it into a religion. It's a bogus cult.

The doctrines of Scientology are available to anyone for the price of a book or CD......
This is getting very boring " learning guy" what are you honestly trying to "learn" with these questions about Scientology.
Or is it just more general religion bashing. (Yawn)
