I don't understand how Christians can discount evolution, with 150 years of solid experimental evidence crossing multiple scientific disciplines, but have no problems believing in an all-powerful being whose always been around creating everything in 6 days.

I don't understand how, when faced with insurmountable evidence against the Bible, they magically "interpret" it differently to suit their needs (God's day is really billions of years...)

I can't understand how Christians discount hundreds of thousands of verifiable, repeatable experiments and scientific data, but wholly believe in a book written 2000 years ago by illiterate mystics.

I can't understand how Christians claim to have a lock on morals, then act incredibly immoral because they have a get-out-of-jail free card because they believe in Jesus.

I can't stand how Christians love to see people burn who prosper as non-Christians. Literally in the past, figuratively in the present.

I don't understand how the God of the Old Testament is so horribly murderous to women, children, and animals, but now everyone thinks He's love.

Finally, maybe most succinctly, I see no reason to believe in something that has absolutely no verifiable proof whatsoever, and whose followers are a most hypocritical bunch of Judges and Condemners.

I am not a Christian because I disagree with a lot of theology.
1. The old concept of election with predestination, or even the modern notion that one has to "accept Jesus" is exclusive and unfair for those who have no idea what Christianity is or were born Before the Common Era. The former means that God has condemned some for damnation, while the latter punishes people because of when or where they were born. I cannot worship a God that isn't fair.
2. I do not believe in Original Sin, therefore I do not believe in the need of salvation so Jesus is obsolete.
3. I do not believe in Satan or an "evil" Deity.
4. I do not believe eternal damnation.
5. Jesus did not complete all of the tasks he was predicted to do, so the idea that he was coming back was created after he died. (I also don't believe in the Jewish scripture, so the Christian take would make less sense for me to accept.)
6. There are many older religions and traditions that make a lot more sense to me and teach kinder messages of fairness, love, righteousness and love.

What I don't like about Christianity: how many Christians don't take the time to study their religion, learn about its roots, how its Bible came to be (from the oral traditions to the written versions, through the redacting, and even translations), how the traditions and holidays came about, and why the religion is the way it is today. I also don't like how some Christians wretch quotes from the Bible out of context without understanding the original intent to try to prove points.

I think a better question is "what is there about the Christian faith that I should believe?" There is no logical reason to accept the teachings of the bible at all, much less consider them to be more valid than the writtings of any other religion.

The main reason is because I am very happy and fulfilled with my deities and my religion. If a devoutly religious person is happy with their beliefs and practices, why would they want to change? I have close relationships with my deities and would never denounce them. What religious person, who loves their deities and is happy with them, would want to denounce them? I would be as likely as you would to change my beliefs and denounce my deities.

I see no reason to believe in only one deity in the universe. I am a polytheist. I don't believe in the concept of an all-positive deity, an all-negative deity, an all-knowing deity, or an all-powerful deity. I do not believe in any type of hell or the Christian concept of heaven. I believe in reincarnation. Since I believe in many deities, I also believe that ther are many "right" ways to worship---I do not believe that there is only one "true" way. As you can see, Christianity has never been an option for me. My basic beliefs are too different from Christian beliefs--I would have to change all of the basic things that I've believed in from the time I was a child and I would have to turn my back on my deities who have always loved me and given me guidance. I would be as likely to do that as you would.
Thank you for being polite. So few are.

Well not liking it has nothing to do with it. As for what I can't believe, um.....pretty much everything. I guess I'm just one of those weird people that actually needs evidence to believe in such a fairy tale.

all of it. with science, we know dinosaurs lived millions of years ago yet religion would have us believe the world is only three to four thousand years old. use your head.

Why must there be any religion...... Why not just a relationship with god as you see him/her....... Religion is like the government, to many people telling you how to live life to its fullest......
