It's a small rodent, larger than a rat, often used for laboratory experiments. In conversation, it's sometimes used to refer to people who are testing something for someone else, such as when a cook trying a new dish says to her guests, "You are my guinea pigs." It doesn't necessarily have a bad connotation.

A guinea pig is a boorish person from New Guinea. As an example:

The bartender asked the New Guinean, "Would you care for another pint of stout?" The New Guinean responded, "Some bartender you are! I'm drinking bitters tonight. And you call yourself a bar tender!" The man proved himself a Guinea Pig.

Hello kalyan,
well like the people before me have said it is a furry little animal but more than that it is not usually used to denote the animal rather it is frequently used to denote people who are used as an use and throw material. For a simili you can say for a boxer his brother is the guinea pig when he can't hit a person his size he hits his brother.
