They go to Heaven. They have not had a chance to acknowledge sin or to confess sin or to seek forgiveness for sin. They haven't even committed a sin willfully. They have security in heaven from the time they are conceived to the time they come to their age of accountability and that could be a different age for everyone. Some accept Christ early when God gives them divine understanding. (My daughter got saved when she was 4and a half.) I think even if she did not get saved at a young age like that she would still be with the Lord if she had died at 5 or 6 or 7 or even 10. It all depends. It has to be an age when they understand they are doing something wrong and they feel convicted and need to be held accountable from God. For someone to come to accept the Lord as Lord and savior they have to hear the gospel first, then their heart has to accept their need for a savior and then they have to receive Him. This takes understanding, the ability to comprehend the meaning of sin and forgiveness. Babies don't have this ability so they are brought back home to be with the Lord. I don't know exact biblical references but throughout the bible it shows people of an age of understanding speaking and receiving God's gift of eternal salvation. God would not be a God of Grace if He did not bring home the infants or young children that died.

The little flock of 144,000 who are bought from the earth go to heaven to rule as kings and priests with the Christ. God is just and would not allow a baby to judge an adult so it is only logical that babies will not be there. The great crowd of other sheep (the meek that will inherit the earth and live forever upon it) will be the ones which will include all the babies who have died. The earth will be restored to a paradise and Satan will be gone and everything will be the way God originally intended. As far as hell--Read Jeremiah 7:31 and you will know that eternal torment and suffering is a man's doctrine and has nothing to do with the way God handles things. The Bible says he puts life and death before us but we must choose life in order to keep living. It says nothing about torture.

having read the bible from cover to cover I can't think of any specific references , My beliefs pretty much disregard genisis and hence the concept of original sin , If purity is inherent in the higher self then the child upon death the soul would return to the Godhead until it was re-incarnated (given another chance to progress through life)i don't know do christians believe in re-incarnation or do you think each individual born has an invidual soul if this is thye case i suppose my answer won't really help,

Unfortunately, the bible does not directly say. While I believe all people are born with a nature to sin, I do not believe that babies are cognitive enough to choose between right and wrong... If they can't choose this cognitively, do you think they have actually sinned? That would get you started in the right direction.
