PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE ANSWERING! DON'T MAKE YOURSELF LOOK STUPID BY NOT READING THE WHOLE QUESTION!
I would truly like to know your reasons for believeing in your God. This is not one of those haughty, stuck up remarks actually trying to get the opposite answer, but rather an encouragement of a discussion of what makes us believe what we believe. Please give a personal reason. NO "because the Bible says so" answers: anyone can read the Bible, why do YOU believe it? And if you are going to use a common reason like "how else would we have been created" please expand and make it personal. I am not looking for any kind of tangible proof, I understand the faith based nature of this matter. Thank you!

I believe because He's proved Himself to me.

I actually believed in God before ever opening a bible. As a child I grew up in what I would call a very unhappy home. My parents were not happily married, and it seemed all us girls were against each other as well. I remarked once, upon looking back, living in that house was like being "dropped behind enemy lines"!! When I was small, and broken hearted (and not even knowing why, really...I guess I just knew instinctively that life didn't have to be like that), that's when I first felt what I came to know as God's presence. In nature, I felt it most strongly.

Fast forward about forty years....someone brought me to a bible teaching church and I started in bible study. In the following years, I came to recognize who it was that was with me when I was a little girl. It was Jesus Christ. Ten years later, I believe the bible is God's word, because I have put lots of time and study into it. My life has changed, my two parents passed away, both being believers in Christ before they died....one of my sisters is born again, and God is working with the other. The transforming power of Jesus Christ saved me from having a broken heart the rest of my life.

Well as you stated it is by faith that we believe in Jesus' ressurection and if you had about an hour i could tell you my life story on how I know beyond any doubt that I have had a simular experience to what the apostle Paul had in Acts 9, While i have had many things in this life the life that i have now i would not change i serve God in the work that i do and make a lot less than i did in my past life and i live in an apartment not a house, however i am happier know than i have ever been.

My beliefs came after many years of questioning what I was told is true and what I felt was the truth. I had a hard time believing that females had no place in the church, as well as that they are only to serve men, even tho this concept was in my favor being male. I did a lot of soul searching. I also did alot of foot work as far as questions to religious leaders. and when I was getting mostly answers that were mainly "Because thats what the bible tells us." I searched other avenues. I have come to the conclusion that I fit in and believe closly to the old pagan paths. I use to see myself as wiccan, however after further research i find that I am a Witch. I believe that what I put out will come back on me. I believe in a god as well as a goddess. I see them as the sun , moon, earth, air , water. I see them all around as well as magick. (yes it is real) I see it in everything. I believe Magick is as simple as planting a seed and watching it grow or cooking a meal. It can be as complicated as a full ritual as well. Is this the same for all Witches? No. Un like most wiccans I don't have to perform a sabat or essbat on particular days. I do what feels right to me when It feels right. Thats how I know what path is right for me. I feel comfortable. AS for my Gods. They are always present, they are loving, compationate, and they know me and are willing to talk with me as long as I am open to listening. Even if it's not what I want to hear. Hope this is what you were looking for. BB = Blessed Be. Sdw

I believe in God because of all the beauty, emotion, and delight that we can take as human beings in the world. Also, there are so many things in science that are so perfect, that the majority of scientists believe in a Creator.

I believe that religion is a reflection of the divine. My tradition happens to be Christianity, but I believe that all the world's religions are just another reflection of God's work on earth.

Peace.

Why I believe in God I always have as far back as I can remember. Why I believe in Jesus, he did what he promised to do for me in my life, he makes all things new, why I believe that Christianity is right, because the whole old testament tells of the coming Messiah and Jesus fulfilled all the prophesies of the messiah (check out jewsforjesus.com). But mostly the reason I believe in my savior is because he came to me (a sinner) and restored me and made me alive. I was formerly depressed and condemned ready to commit suicide hopeless, an alcoholic and drug user to try to rid the pain in my heart and my head, I had no self esteem and would screw anything that walked before I met my savior who loved me UNCONDITIONALLY and he restored my soul> Jesus is AWESOME and if you only had a small clue of what he did for us when he went to the cross in our place you would fall on your face and show him love right back, because he loves us all VERY VERY MUCH. SINNER or SAVED.

there's no way i can believe that there's no God. i had some experiences myself. i almost died of an illness, and when my dad prayed to God i soon became well, and, no, i didn't go to the hospital. also look around u. there is no possible way that all the nature is here by mistake. it just can't be. everything on the earth was made very detailed.

I believe in the God and Goddess because there is a balance in the Universe. That balance exists in all things. It is represented by the God and Goddess who reside in all things.
