No issues, as long as you find the right meds and keep taking them. I am bipolar and have been for 25+ years. I have been married 20 years and hold down a very high pressure job.

I'm sure that for some people it may be hard to get a job or a normal life. In my honest opinion - do not use bipolar as a crutch as some do. You can live a normal life and you can get a job. I agree with the person who said that it's no one's business but your own, however, if you end up having a "fit", as I call it, and it's during work and questions are being asked, you may have to explain it. People cannot fire you or not hire you because of your disorder - or any disorder for that. You have committed no crime and therefore should not be punished for a chemical imbalance that you did not create. As far as living a normal life goes, there will have to be changes. Depending on how bad you BPD is, you will have to watch yourself and what you do and watch. My brother is bi-polar/schizophrenic and has "fits" twice every month, but it has to do with what he's watching. Horror movies start him up in a fit of having dillusions and hearing voices - then he has to get checked up and so on. You have to make life changes in order to live your life normal for you. It's hard, but if you want a happy, healthy life, you'll have to make some sacrifices.

I'm a supervisor in a major pharmacy drug store. I have bipolar disorder and I am taking meds. I get my meds there at the pharmacy, so some people know. If I can work as a member of management, then I don't see why you can't get a job. Plus you don't have to tell anyone about it if you don't feel comfortable with it.

i'm bipolar and that i don't have unsupervised visitation with my toddler. I observed my toddler thrice yet i will't commute 50 miles to ascertain him. Plus, I stay in an atmosphere the place my mom and dad bombard the social worker with adverse communicate appropriate to the toddler's mom - my spouse. as long because of the fact the father follows the therapy plan, toddler service workers can define a visitation time table which starts off with supervised visits and ends with unsupervised visits. My final pass to with my son became unsupervised for greater or less ninety minutes. The mentally ill have a suitable to ascertain their little ones as long because of the fact the youngsters are risk-free and the mentally ill ascertain is risk-free besides. the rest would be disastrous.

I work and I was diagnosed with that disorder. So, I believe you can do whatever you want and are capable of doing. Medicine, counseling and having a healthy routine will help you do what you need to, to achieve your goals. I agree that it is no one's business to know about your condition. It is a medical condition and you are not crazy. So don't think about restrictions. Re-frame your thinking and see the possibilities.

Be careful of a diagnosis of Bi-Polar. Doctors are very quick to diagnosis a person with this. And then the Meds can cause you to really flip. No doctor can say because you have mood swings or sadness, or anxiety you have bi-polar that is just called life. Bi-polar is hereditary and can only be properly diagnosis with a genes test.

That is so NOT true. First of all, it is no one's bussiness if you have BPD, and if they happen to know, they CANNOT discriminate against you. People who suffer from BPD, when on proper meds, live perfectly normal lives and, unless in extreme cases, it is very hard to distinguish them from other people who just have bad tempers or are easily excited. No worries luv.
