How do rich people in this present world get rich? They are greedy, obsessed with making money, and even lie cheat and steal for gain, and they don't like to give to charity.
So Jesus said that about rich people. How did the peacemakers, and the meek get rich? By being peaceful, and meek. Not by being greedy. There's nothing wrong with being rich, it's how you get rich, and how you look at worldly possessions and if you give to the poor. So these people will be rich, but by not the same means as the present world.
BIG DIFFERENCE.

Inheriting the earth refers to the kingdom of God to come; not this present world.
