How do we know what's God's will? How do we know if the choices we make are the right thing, God's will? Is there a way or is it just by faith?

In my opinion.... the bible is only a book of stories. Not every story in the book should be taken to heart. You learn what you can from them and become a better person. Being religious is no excuse for being a crappy person.

God's will, is a touchy subject. All religions claim to know. I think all we can do is try to be as happy as we can in life and do actions that both ourselves and others can respect. That's all anyone can really ask. Telling people they're going to hell because of their religion, on the other had, makes you a mean person. Religious or not, right or not... doesn't matter. Why would a perfect God want someone so judgemental. Why would ANYONE?

If one is able to actually access God with in the heart then they can know Gods will. But only a self realized soul can do that. According to the Vedic understand one has to check their actions according to Guru, Sadhu and Shasta or The Grate saints, (Christ, St. Francis, Prabhupada etc.) Sadhu are the living saints who follow the path strictly, and the scriptures. Then we have to be extremely sincere our self to be able to discriminate the above. So practically it is very difficult due to mistranslations in the scriptures and because much has been misconstrued and there are few living examples. We are left to a few. I recommend the Vedic Texts translated by His Holiness Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada who is in a disciplic succession all the way down from the appearance of Lord Krishna. Go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com The World Relief Network. Stephen Knapp is a living example of the scriptureand a disciple of Prabhupada and His books are amazing. Don't seek Gods will by reading the Bible, rather read the first four books of the New Testament which speaks of Gods love for all mankind, then read the rest which is how, and about a group of people who really screwed up because they could never get with Gods program. However, the Spirit of God comes from knowing and following the teachings of the one written about in the Gospels. (The first four books)

Drawing close to God by reading the scriptures on a daily basis and learning more about how he handled things in the past is the best way to know if you are following God's will. Also praying for guidance will help you to find the answers in someone else's comments or in the Bible itself. Associating with others who also love God and want to know his will in their lives is a big plus. Faith is great but it should be firmly grounded in reason.

God's general will for all Christians are all written in the Bible. God has given us the Holy Spirit who lives in us as His holy temple. The Holy Spirit is our guide, teacher and counsellor. So to know God's specific will for your life for any moment of time you need the direction of the Holy Spirit. This is why God has given us the Holy Spirit who lives in us forever. When you know the Holy Spirit well enough you can hear His voice directing you when you turn to Him for advice. Sometimes He even gives warning about bad situations so that you can pray for victory. If you cannot hear His voice you can sense for the peace in your heart which means it is ok to proceed. But even if you have direction of the Holy Spirit it is good to get confirmation from a matured man of God to ensure that you do not get into error. Every Christian should be taught to communicate with the Holy Spirit to have access to Godly advice 24/7.

We know and have assurance of God's Will by becoming familiar with His letters to us. His letters are known as The Bible. In it you will find all you need to know. That is why the Bible says that we should study to shew ourselves approved...... Not only will you find out God's Will for you, you will also find out the things that Jesus has done for us to help make that Will come to pass. May God Bless.
p.s. I suggest that you pray to God and ask Him what church you should attend. It also helps talking to and finding like minded people who are learned that you can learn from.

Jesus made this very clear! he said that he had come to do the will of the Father and thay asked him what is the Fathers' will that we may do it also? He replied and said that the Fathers will is that you believe on him whom he hath sent (Himself,Christ)
Jesus also stated that "And this is the will of him that sent me that everyone who seeth the Son and believeth on him may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day"
Gods' will is that all men everywhere believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!

First what do you mean exactly by God's will? His general will for everyone is to love him above all else and to love our neighbors as ourself. Ask yourself what unique way can you personally serve God and what unique way you can love your neighbors in action, and I think you will be on the right track.

God's will for us can be found in His word. What does He ask of us? "To do justly and to love mercy". If you want to see what His will is for your life, read Matthew 5, Jesus' teachings that are referred to as "The Beatitudes". Be merciful, forgiving, kind, love God with all your heart, do not return evil for evil...this is His will for us.

Here is what I have experienced, you make certain choices= certain results. If you live your life making positive choices you will most likely get positive results, the same goes for the other way, make bad choices= bad results. There is no "one" way.
