A few small pieces of cheese as a treat is OK. I wouldn't give a small dog more than one thin slice of cheese a day cut into many bite sized treats. My 3 dogs (2 Shih-tzus and a Yellow labX) all get cheese as a small treat and I've never had any problems with it.

Cheese isn't good for any size of dog, you should avoid feeding your dogs human food. However, I've found that if you ever have to give your dog medication wrapping it in cheese seems to get it down alot easier. But I wouldn't make it a habit to feed your dog cheese, or any human food.

In answer to your question, it is unlikely that cheese will be harmful to your dog. As with people, cheese can constipate, but if the dog shows no ill effects, I wouldn't be opposed to using it as a treat.
Things you should never feed your dog are; chocolate, grapes, raisins, walnuts, turkey skin, and onions. There is much information on the net to help aid you in finding your answer, and researching good/bad foods, but good for you for questioning what is safe for your little buddy.

I heard that cheese isn't good for dogs, but I give my pug a small piece now and again. She absolutely loves it. Many dog candies have cheese as an ingredient, so I don't know. I do know that you shouldn't let dogs eat onion, garlic, chocolate, grapes or coffee.
Please check with a vet.

Yes my breader told me to give my Shihpoo cheese slices for a treat but not everyday just sometime. It is full of protein and milk products but another good choice is yogart. If your dog ever gets the runs of other illness yogart is the best to feed them.

Sure. Dogs love cheese and there are good things in it. All in moderation, of course.

i don't recommend giving cheese to dogs, since cheese is a dairy product and I heard from a friend that dogs are lactose-intolerant which means they can't digest dairy products that well.
