Why there is a stereotype? Because the first thing that was ever mentioned about the terrorist involved in 9/11 was that they were Muslims and that they were from Afghanistan (which was wrong, they were actually from Saudi Arabia, but why we are not fighting Saudi Arabia?), not that they were psycho bastards!
Is it just? No, it's not! Why? for the same reason that it is not just to call all the Germans Nazis, or all the African Americans criminals, or all whites racists! You just can't categorize people like that.

It is nothing new. Here is an extract from Pope Urban II
speech at Council of Clermont, 1095. This is what lead to the first Crusade. Christians were being massacred by muslim raids and Alexios I Komnenos, the Byzantine emperor and Urban II asked for aid from the west

For, as the most of you have heard, the Turks and Arabs have attacked them and have conquered the territory of Romania [the Greek empire] as far west as the shore of the Mediterranean and the Hellespont, which is called the Arm of St. George. They have occupied more and more of the lands of those Christians, and have overcome them in seven battles. They have killed and captured many, and have destroyed the churches and devastated the empire.

The majority of people I feel love and respect everyone equally. None of us are as gullible as to judge all by the acts of only a few crazies in that group. There are extremes in all cultures that don't represent the whole. It's unfortunate in this case because the extreme is really extreme!

no , not just , in fact islam is a gainst terror , if some muslims done such a thing they are out of islam , but i think that the media and politicians wanted to shape the minds of ppl to have supporters for what they do against muslims, so they say they are so besides i heared it was an inside job.

I can tell you my source, history. The terrorists that cowardly rammed the twin Towers were Muslim. So, just like it has always been, one kid in the class ruins it for everybody. They were Muslim so all Muslims are terrorists.if people would stop and think, wee all have fanatics in each society.
