Do you work? If so you should purchase some either from work or a private company. If you don't work maybe you could qualify for sate assistance health care, or disability but the best way would be to purchase your own insurance if you can.

Don't be afraid, it just makes your pain worse. There is always a way to work things out.

Speak with your physician who most likely will have a lot of good advice for you; I would imagine it is very common and the most important thing is to get you on the other side of this and getting well.

Some hospitals have counseling services that can help you get through the mire of paperwork and options. They might be able to give you some financing options and/or even see what temporary public assistance might be available; just remember, you aren't doing this for entertainment, you can't go through life like this and things will get better.

Remember, when it gets really tough, just lock arms with the rest of us and we'll get through it together. Wish you well.

The price of knee surgery is very low in India as compared to USA, UK and Canada. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

My mom owns a small business and was it hard for her to find insurance. She had a tumor removed and the bills where way high. The university of Iowa hospitals had some ways of knocking off some bills or they had let her make payments. You should ask the hospital to see if they have that program. wish you well!!

Usually if you talk to the hospital you can work out a payment plan with them. As this is what hospital financial people do all day, make an appointment to talk to them and maybe they would know about options for funding that most people don't know about.

Depending upon where you live, the county may have an indigent's program. Check with your Social Services organization and/or county hospital.

The best of luck.

Google sports medicine clinics/doctors. ask thier advice. India has clinics now that are state of the art and many Americans go there because it is cheaper.
