Compliment them. There is this book about a teenager who had everything go wrong for him and decided to commit suicide. He has some books checked out from the library, so thinking that he's about to do the last good deed of his life, he goes to return them. The secterary-person, says, "You're a very handsome young man," and his life turns around on just that comment.

I've never read it, but my teacher told us about it.

It might be true.

Hug my little granddaughter, when she comes over, (that brightens my day considerably, too)! smile at a stranger who looks a little sad, tell my handsome hubby how sexy he is...lol, help a friend with a problem, even just listening is good sometimes, bake some cookies for the little old lady that lives down the street....help out a child in sunday school class...share a funny joke...there's lots of ways!
