I had a business for many years putting on garage sales - the items you mentioned do not go for a high price. The key to a successful garage sale is:
Group items together, i.e. all kitchen items, all jewelery, all outdoor stuff, all toys, all clothes (hang if possible) include shoes, bedding, furniture, you get the point. This will help you to sell more - the real garage sale buyers know what they are looking for and don't want to have to wander around - they want to come in, purchase and get to the next sale
Books go for around .25 cents to $1 unless it's antique or signed.
Shoes for under $1 unless they are retro
Clothes: depending the item anywhere from .50 cents up but remember unless the items are vintage do not over price, really!
Always have a "free item box" and put that in your ad for the sale - you have no idea how this simple thing attracts people plus they will take away the junk you could never sell!
Each garage sale I put on was different in that some sales the clothes were a popular item the next sale clothes did not sell. But the key to any successful sale is to not overprice the items and be ready to dicker on the price - this is what garage sales are all about - unless you are absolutely sure you don't want to reduce a price for a sale do "make a deal."
The next important thing is to clearly mark EACH ITEM - if it's not marked people will either walk away or will ask you and you may be very busy and make a mistake in verbally pricing the item.
Have lots of change and paper $ to make change - keep it on your person, i.e. fanny pack or some such.
I know this sounds like a lot of work but believe me the extra time will pay off. I did this business for years and was very successful.
Good luck and have fun! :)

Below $5. Books few cents. The point is to get rid of the stuff, rather then profit. If you put it up high there won't be buyers as there are always better somewhere else.
Tips for a successful garage sale is lay things out in categories especially books. Keep things visible. Put prices for all the items. That way you have already decided what to charge without thinking when loads of people are asking you a the same time. Make sure you have enough change on you. Best to keep small change in a box. Keep place tidy and decorate with some balloons, put balloons out on the street and put sign up to indicate the sale. Possibly advertise in a paper 1 week early then 1 day before and on the day.
Greet everyone with a big welcoming smile!

If you really want to get rid of most of your stuff you should make it low in price. Clothes- people want you to practically give the clothes to them. So price low, like shirts/blouses if not really stylish-.-25-$1.00. If you have a coat or jacket-make it $3.00 to $5.00. T-shirts that are not worn-might have some cute Pictures. or words on it could go as .75-$2.00. Now if you have dresses/skirts .50-1.50. You will find if you price it high you can go down, but if it is already low-they will not have a dickering price that they can offer instead. People like to offer you something. Like you have $3.00 on it they want to say, "will you take $1.00, you could say how about 1.50. etc. Books can be sold at Half Price book stores-for 25cents to 7.00. But I would put only .25-.50, if used paperback, hard back maybe $1.00. Toys- cheap unless they look new-Like TonKa or Fisher Price, or Lego es , people want cheap- now if you have Fisher price/Lego es- you could push the priceup-$3.00-$8.00 depending on how many-how they look, complete set, so forth. Videos are not a big seller, as much as they use to be- but you might be able to get 1.00-3.00 depending what it is. (Just remember, good shape books, magazines, some videos and CD can be sold at a Half Price store, also, These game store will take DVD and game DVD- also there are now some store called Garage sales, that will give you money right out for your stuff-but I would do that after I had tried my own sale. Linens and Towels sale good- $1.00-$3.00.
Tools, are a big getter for guys, if you have Small. elect. Appliances.could go as $3.00-10.00.depending on condition and if really works, I always have a free basket -buy anything and get one item out of free basket(filled with socks, knee hi, old stockings, handkerchiefs, school supplies, shoestrings, half used coloring books, colors in zip bag, small toys (that are not worth pricing) .Then when sale is all over-don't shovel it all back into your house pack it up and go give it to NAM'S, Good Will or Salvation Army-they need all the donations they can get.

There is no way we could advise you, since we don't know what stuff you have or the condition it is in. Do you have a friend who has done this before who could advise you? I would say, don't put anything out there that you won't promise to throw in the dumpster or garbage can, if it doesn't sell. That way, you can see the whole process as one in which people pay you to take away your garbage.

If you still have the price for what you paid originally (like on the books) half that and that could be the price that they pay. Ex. a books price was originally $5.00. Half that and the price would be $2.50. Good Luck!

if the clothing is like new, charge 1.00-2.00 if it is obviously used charge 25-50 cents.
books, .50-1.00
shoes, like new 1.00-2.00
obviously used 25-50 cents.
toys, large good condition 1.00-5.00 depending on type
small good condition .75-1.00 depending on type
small or large obviously used 10-50 cents
also if you have leftover like new products, take them to a consignment shop to get some money there, and if they are too used for that, you can donate them to a local charity for a tax deduction too.

I'd suggest fractions of a dollar. People expect cheap prices and anything expensive will run people off.
