It's a real company and a real bank but that's a lot of money so I would call because you won't get that amount of money unless it was a settlement for a case you had against them for damages or something.
This was on their website www.unilever.com
08/11/2006 : Unilever NV today announced that it has agreed a settlement with the main parties in the legal dispute over its 1999 Unilever NV Preference Shares. These parties, with whom constructive talks have been held, include the Dutch Shareholders Association, VEB, and several institutional shareholders.

Im from Toronto and I know for a fact that the company Unilever is a very legit company. So if you got a cheque from them just go ahead and deposit it in ur bank. You have nothing to lose.

Unilever is a real company that makes things like soap and personal care products. If the check is for a small amount maybe it was a rebate you don't remember sending in. If it is for a large amount, I would question it.

Yes, of course, unless you have reason to believe otherwise. First Canadian Place is a giant office building downtown where the Bank of Montreal (BMO) is based in the city.

I don't know but
We got a check we were not sure about and we called the bank it was drawn on to find out. It was a scam and they had us send it to them. Their security department was working on it. They are going to prosecute the people if they can find them.
So call the bank during regular business hours and they should be able to let you know.
