Let's see...an ugly old dude on a cloud, with a long grey beard...he works 24/7, because he has to check what all of us do in our sexual lives...he's busy all day with that and he gets completely sick of it..

And a person who doesn't believe in him.

Of course he hates you! But that's only because he's just stupid. Or silly. Oh wait, it's about god, I need to capitalize my words:

he's just Stupid. or Silly.

Nope.

Over the course of my 36 years on the planet I have been all over the map when it comes to how I feel about God. I've never NOT believed in God, but there have been times where I hated him and didn't care a bit if that mattered or not.

At this point in my life I'm a Christian and very happy with it. If you told me five years ago I would be one, I would have told you you were nuts.

There was no major drama. No big realization. It started with my interest in history and archaeology, including "the historical Jesus" and the Da Vinci Code. I also had a few friends who were Christians here and there, who never made a big deal out of it or "witnessed" to me at all. They were just really cool, fun, and funny people who mentioned going to church like I might mention going to the grocery store.

As the years went by, I found myself interested just in the sayings and quotes from the bible. I've always collected quotes that I liked. Then I became more and more interested in the bible and Christian books in general.

Before I knew it, I became a Christian. I wasn't even at church. I was reading a book on my couch on a Tuesday afternoon and just was ready to do it. So I did the prayer that they do in church when you want to become a Christian. And I meant it.

I know my story doesn't have much to do with your question, but I thought it would help bring perspective on my point of view.

The Prodigal Son is a story that comforted me even when I HATED God with a blue, firey passion. It made me feel like it was okay to hate him because I felt like I knew it wasn't going to make him hate me.

God doesn't hate Atheists. If you're even wondering about how this may affect God, then it sounds like maybe you don't necessarily disbelieve in him, but are angry at him (maybe even with a blue, firey passion). It's okay to be angry at God. He's God. He can take it. There are no burnt bridges with God. He'll always be there for you, if you choose to decide not to be an atheist at some point in your life. Or even if you decide to remain an atheist.

Well, this is a long answer, but I hope it helps.

Nancy

First of all REV KEV if you are atheist, why are you thanking God that you are an atheist?? Remember, you don't believe in God, but you are thanking Him. WOW, now I'm confused.

And then, Jelly Bean, the answer to your question, why do you worry if God hates you, if you are an atheist and don't believe in God. But God loves everyone.

Now you both really have me totally confused.

God bless you both anyway. A child of God, Juanita

My brother is an atheist and he doesnt care if God loves him or not since he does not believe in God. l've talk to him many times about it but he said he would only be convinced if there is a strong scientific finding complete with data justifying God's existence. We believe what we want to believe. We only find out the truth when we leave this world.
To answer your question, no, He does not hate you. God does not discriminate. We are all His children - believers and non-believers. God bless. :)

No, God loves you, no matter what you are.

He will honor your choice to hate him, though. That is, if you don't want to spend eternity with God, he won't force you into it.

I would hope you would open up your heart and mind to the great mercy of God while you still walk the earth. God is waiting for you. Believe that? The creator of all things is waiting for JellyBean to say "yes" to him. It's true. He would love for you to say yes, so that he may bless your life in ways you can't imagine.

Or you can stay where you are, arms crossed, shaking your head no. 'Twould be a shame, but 'tis an option.

Your question confuses me. Why would you care if God hates or loves you when you don't believe He exists?

It is written that the angels in heaven rejoice and have a celebration every time an unbeliever turns away from the lies of this wicked world and believes in God's promise of salvation.

The God you don't believe in loves you more than you and I can imagine. More than anybody and everybody on this planet. So much that He sent His one and only Son to earth to be punished for our iniquities

Now why would an atheist be concerned about what God thinks?

That's kind of like saying: I don't believe in aliens-do you think aliens are friendly beings?

I don't believe in ghosts-do you think my house is haunted?

you sound agnostic to me.

To answer your question: No, I don't think that God hates you for being atheist. I do believe that everyone, atheists and theists alike, will all be judged accordingly

1) You are lost in a forest, there you see a house in the middle of the forest. you are certain that this house has been built by someone. you may not know who he is but you are dead sure that the house has a owner. WHY?

2)You dont see Infra-Red radiations, yet you believe its existence. you dont see the waves that are emitted while we talk, yet you can feel it. you have not seen a single galaxy yet you believe the presence of millions of galaxies. WHY?

3) You were not present when an Apple fell over Newton. And he discovered Gravity. yet you believe Newton discovered 'Gravity'. have you seen it? Yet you believe in the phenomenon called 'Gravity'.

4) Nobody knows where is the exact location of 'Mind' and the 'Soul' in the human body, yet millions accept its prescence.

If you can affirm all these without seeing them, Can not the whole of the universe be built by ALmighty GOD???

The house in the forest has to have an owner, The Gigantic universe running in precise equilibrium, without an Owner?

GOD exists and HE is only ONE.

Now, why would you ask this question ;-) If there is no God, He cannot hate you, correct?

Anyway, in one sense, God loves all his creatures. He provides good things for all people, regardless of how they relate to Him. But in an eternal sense, since you are a sinner and God is holy and just, unless you are in Christ you will experience the wrath of God against sin. To be in Christ means that you acknowledge your sin, acknowledge the fact that you cannot possibly atone for it, and have faith in Jesus Christ who lived the perfect life and died a sinner's death that His people might be spared God's wrath.

If you're an atheist why would you wonder if a God you say doesn't exist, hates you?
