if the ten commandments tell us to keep the sabbath day holy and the bible says the sabbath was a saturday doesnt the church break that commandment every week by pretending that sunday is the sabbath?

Yes. We should keep the Sabbath Day(Saturday) holy.

"Remember the Sabbath Day to Keep it Holy" Exodus 20:8

Below I am going to answer some of the comments made earlier

1)"Where does it say that Saturday was the Sabbath and what calender was it based off"
It is based of God's calender the same one the Jews have kept since the time of Moses at Sinai. It is highly unlikely that every jew all over the world woke up one day and forgot which day is the Sabbath The US Naval Observatory and the Royal Observatory both confirm that the Saturday Sabbath observed today is the same one Jesus observed.

2)"Show me 1 place in the Bible that it says "the sabbath is on Saturday."
Again the both Observatories confirm that Satuday is the Sabbath. In addition if you can't tell which day is the Sabbath then you can't tell which day Jesus rose on Luke 22-23 state that Jesus rose the day after the Sabbath.

3) "I think that if you treat one day a week as a Sabbath, it doesn't really matter which one it is. It's a day of reflection and rest. "
God did not say "PICK A 7th day and MAKE it holy" He said Remember THE 7th day to KEEP it holy. The means a specific day and He said KEEP it holy because it was already holy. It does matter which day.

The first person to say "It doesn't matter how we worship God" is Cain. Cain said "it doesn't matter how we worship God as long as we give something." Was he right?

4) Romans 14

Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

If you look ate the book of Zechariah you see what Paul was talking about
Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying, Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? Zechariah 7:4,5
Paul is talking about observing days of Fasts

Let’s think about this is Paul telling people to violate the commandments if Paul had said Rom 14:6 He that kills, kills unto the Lord; and he that kills not, to the Lord he doth not kills.

People would say "That’s crazy you can’t commit murder that’s a moral law, Paul must mean something else." Many people justify breaking the Sabbath because they view all the other laws as more important, and the Sabbath as a minor law. They use this philosophy to justify outright rebellion against God and his law

5) "we are not under the mosaic law"
A)Can we murder people now? or lie and steal? what about adultery is that ok since we are not under the law? Then why are we getting rid of the only commandment that starts off with "REMEMBER"
B)The 7th day Sabbath is not part of Mosaic law written by Moses it is part of the moral law written with the finger of God in stone

Pretty much. Everyday though should be a day of worshipping God through prayer and communication with Him but there were specific days set aside for the Christian church which was very "Jewish." The christian church in the beginning, before, during and after Pentecost, whether they were gentile or Jew, they were all keeping the Holy Days and The Sabbath Holy (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown). The feast days of the Lord etc....which are eternal and we will be celebrating them In the New Kingdom when Jesus comes to rule as King. The catholic church wiped out these very important Days of God to get rid of anything that resembled Jesus and the true God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. An antisemetic move. Now all of Christendom has merged with the catholic church in celebrating other pagan holidays like Christmas, Easter, etc....instead we should be honoring God by following His commandments. They aren't Jewish holydays they are God's Holy days for all of us.

Show me 1 place in the Bible that it says "the sabbath is on Saturday."

As long as there are people in the church there will be flaws.

Yup.

The Sabbath remains the same and is still the seventh day of the week; and Sunday is still the first day of the week, no matter how you slice the pie. To call any other day of the week as your "own" or "personal" Sabbath won't work.

Check out Exodus 20:10 that states "But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God..."

Peace be with you.

The Ten Commandments only show us that we are unworthy. And that we fall short daily. I have not yet arrived at a place where I can say Have done all that God has commanded. It is to show us that without him we can do nothing good. But through God's eyes he sees that we needed a savior. We can get into religious ruts trying to do things that God has not yet reveled to us. You can be assured that the blood of Jesus can make you clean and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. So what can we do to make his Crucifixion of no effect? Unless we don't believe. It is not by our works that we can make it to heaven. The Ten Commandments will show us what it will be like when we get to heaven. But we can not get in except by Jesus as our lord and savior.

i think of your certainly precise each demonination has their flaws. Catholicism doesnt unavoidably enourage you to seek for god and his certainty for your self yet extra so during the church. the only element approximately is that bible could constantly be your important source of coaching through fact it is the observe of god. Dont get caught up in faith through fact whilst catholicism would have specific traditions, rituals, etc. interior the tip relationship is all that concerns. as long as what youre practicinf lines up with the bible, your in gods will. And as far as homosexuality is going, the bible says that intercourse is meant for marriage between a guy in a woman. Sorry i dont be attentive to the appropriate verse haha and im no longer telling you what you are able to believe only had to furnish you my version of the verse and that i'm hoping you will discover what your searching for!

the Sabbath or shabbat in judaism is from sundown friday till sundown on saturday.

Constantine worshipped many gods, including the christian one both for political expediency, and he was covering his bases just in case one of them was correct. He decided to have xians worship on sunday, the day of the sun god, and also that they celebrate christs birthday on Dec 25th, which was Mithra's birthday.

Do you think God adheres to OUR days of the week?

Our days are defined by the speed of the earth's rotation, surely this unit of measurement is not used by an all powerful God.

Does god really measure time in eartly days? Are you that arrogant? If he doesn't then what does it matter.
