on Monday I was talking to a girl I know likes me. In the past, we had always playfully argued about who was going to buy who dinner.....so anyway I asked her about going to the movies this weekend, and she said "If you're gonna pay my way." Because of past conversations, I think she was just playing around, but I only realize that now. I was kind of pissed off, and today neither of us brought up the subject, we just flirted with eachother for about 5 min. My question is, what is running through her head since I didnt' "follow up" today? I have no idea what she could be thinking. Any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated.....

She's probably wondering if your going to take her to the movies and since you asked her to go you should pay.
I guess I'm being old fahioned but I think the guy should pay when you first start dating and then if the relationship gets serious I see nothing wrong with her paying every now and then if your funds are tight at the time.
If you are really interested in her whats the big deal about footing the bill for the evening? Go for it and ask her out, it seems to me that she is really interested but confused about how you feel.

Pay her way! If you want to take her out, that's the gracious way to be. If she argues with you, then you can let her cover her part.

But if I were you, the next time I see her, I'd say, "By the way, I AM going to pay for the movies, like it or not." Show her you like her and that you are not only willing, but that you WANT to pay for your date.
