so let's say there's this guy Eric. and he is in one of my classes. now i'm really nice to everyone, so i tried being friends with eric this year. and all of a sudden he's helping me with homework, staying after school with me, and he even gave me his phone number and said i should call him if i need more homework help. i doubt he wants anything, cuz he's always staring at me in class too,
right now i was just talking to him online, and he wasn't really replying, so i asked him what was up and he said that he was being distracted, by another girl. so i said he should go talk to her because i'm obviously in the way... and he left. what's that all supposed to mean?

I think you are over analyzing the situation. I think the best thing for you to do is remember that you should not expect anything out of this and if you do...
let it be natural and come to you.
There is no rush into anything.
If he is into you, let him come to you and show that he really does want you. Hopefully his intentions are good ones and not ones that will leave you hooked on him.

It means that you are so attracted to him you can't even concentrate with your school work. Education can give you a better future than any boy who will eventually grow beer belly and smell like old sweat.

it means just what he says. don't message him any more. He obviously not THAT into you if his priority is another girl. Just wait and see what he says, maybe she was bugging the crap out of him and he was just to nice to tell her to leave him alone. or maybe the first thing i said. he might have been disappointed that you said he should go talk to this other girl....maybe what he wanted was to chat with you. Talk to him at school see if you can find out why.
