LOL...men, men, men...love, love, love..
they're not jerks all the time...they just chose to be one most of the time!
try to ask nicely, maybe it'll help...and oh, try to talk to him during commercials coz he can't really hear you while the game is on...it's called selective hearing and MEN have mastered it so well...

Look. Not to take up for your guy, but as a guy I understand. Guys like to wath their ballgames and sports. We don't like to be bothered during the game. Especially when it is our team playing. Most especially when there is 2:00 left in the game, the score is tied and his team is running a hurry-up offense to win the game. LOL
Best thing you can do is sit and talk with him. Know what time the game is on and have him do household task you mention before the game starts.
Just remember. Not all men are jerks. It is your man being the jerk.

Speaking only for myself, I think it is our nature. We do what feels natural even if it is wrong. Now, to say that all men are jerks is over the top, flat out, wrong in every sense. True, there are men who treat their girls like dogs, but others have respect for their girl, show that they are a "real" man by providing for their family and most of all, know how to make a women happy

I'm sorry but we aint all jerks like you think.
I'm happy to take the rubbish out, clean the bedrooms, vacum, do the washing up, wash the cars and do anything else along these lines so I dont know whats wrong with your man but Laura loves it when I get in and help out, getting the job done guys means we can go fishing or watch the footy/cricket sooner or in my case go shopping with my girl.
so there we're not as bad as what you think, I want an apology in my inbox within an hour thank you.....I am standing up for all the decent men out there who do help out around the house, like my uncle and my dad...........
how dare you call us all jerks and genrealise.

When you are doing something you really enjoy and are engaged in, do you appreciate your guy coming up and wanting you to do something for him. Set a time like meal time or other agreed time when you can just sit and talk. Or when he is busy, ask him to come to when he is not busy.

IT'S JUST WITH SOME GUYS. MY HUSBAND HAD TO DO ALL OF THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THINGS AROUND THE HOUSE, SO HE KNOW HOW MUCH I DO INSIDE TO HELP OUT. IT'S ALSO FUN FOR ME TO HELP HIM OUTSIDE TOO.
