To the first question:
The cat has either adopted you or your house.. Or is possibly just looking for food.
To the 2nd:
People tend to do that a lot. I wouldn't read much into it other than nature.
To the 3rd: You just might have good luck. Then again, if this person was a "fortune teller" then they probably made a guess. They usually take something very general and apply it to their clients. That way, you will look for something in your life to fit their fortune to.

YOU have a new baby! and aren't you lucky! Cats are choosy and finiky and well....plain stuck up sometimes, but they are THE best pets for someone who does not want a tail wagging, slobbering, toy shaking dog (no offence, but dogs and cats are different! Love them both, but they require different personalities). Ask the cat to let you know it's name, they usually will only tell it to other cats or those they REALLY trust. Otherwise, they have three names...one you call them, one they call themselves and one the dog made up! LOL Have it spayed or neutered, get it's shots, buy some cat toys and enjoy your new family member.

It means you have been thoroughly researched and inspected, and that the cat has found you to be a nice person. In other words, get some cat food next time you're at the grocery; it looks like you have a cat.

I had that SAME thing happen to me, the cat senses a good home and likes you, the cat trusts you, also you should feed it and give it water. I had this cat come around my house, it's owners hated it and said they didn't want it anymore so I took it in and named him Tommy, =) Please give in consideration that the cat needs you. I wasn't alowed to have it in the house so he stays in the garage. Do you know what a familiar is?? A witch's cat... it brings good luck.

It's a compliment. The cat senses something good and loving in you. Feed and play with your new friend. Is it stray? If so can you make him/her a pet? Can you afford the medical care?
