I learned that at night it is best to use the "figure eight" method. You move your head, with or without NVGs, in the motion of an eight.

i agree with the guy about the figure 8 system i have found that works the best, in daylight as well as at night

probably look for movement and head and body shaped irregularities....
umm "visual recognition" i guess...
sorry... I don't know, I just wanted to be a smart ***, or a dumb ***, take your pick...

have you ever played Splinter cell? you know the gogles that let you see heat signatures? Goggles like that realy do exist.
