We have a landscaping business, and we store 2 lawn mowers in the basement underneath the house. Ever so often I notice a gas odor in our house. It seems to be coming through the air ducts when the heat pump comes on. It isn't real strong but it is noticible. I notice it more when we refuel our mowers, probably due to the workers spilling some gas on the outside of the mower. Is this a health hazzard?

yes but of more immanent importance you have gas fumes circulating through your house this means that your HEATING unit is what is doing the circulation . so put the mowers outside now. gas burns best at about a 14[air] to 1[gas] ratio it will still ignite easily at a much leaner ratio so put the cans out as well and tomorrow purchase a small locking shed for your power equipment

It's not only a health hazard it's also a fire hazard. The continuous inhallation of gas fumes can lead to brain damage, blindness & seizures. An outdoor storage shed would be an inexpensive investment to protect your health & safety. Don't take unnecessary risks. There are enough in our everyday lives without knowingly adding more.

It is very much a Health Hazzard. Get the stuff out side. I hope you don't have any young ones in the house. But, it is not good to smell, inhale this stuff. And what if it got stronger through out the night while you are sleeping.? Take it out side.
