I'd go to a DERMATOLOGIST first for sounds like a skin condition or even a birthmark but a doctor can tell you what it is and if anything can be done to correct-could even be attributed to diet, something missing . There are Bleaching Creams available and if that is a option for you then the doctor can prescribe the correct strength that you need and since they are costly over the counter why waste money expeimenting when you can get the right one for you immediately from the doctor.Suppose it is some sort of birthmark-there is a Concealing Make-up Line such as DERMABLEND-conceals,scars,birthmarks,even port wine stains on the face and such ,vericose veins for it has for the face and also fo anywhere on the body and have seen the commercial where a woman wth very dark veins applies on the legs and the result is amazing-totally can't tell-legs are a uniform even color. It this is a option for you and your children since it is sweat and water proof soap and water is not sufficient to take off but the Cetaphil Cleanser(found any drug store or food store) does a good job in removing it-for no makeup is supposed to be kept on ovrnightYou can find this at Macy's,Dillards,Pennys Bloomingdales-the better dept.stores. I'd use this makeup esp on the children until you get to see a Dermatologist for I'm sure kids at school if school age are quick to notice difference and can be cruel in their taunts and that is hurtful for children want to fit in so badly Hope I helped and that you find answer to your problem. Stay Well

If it's on the back of the neck, I think my doctor said (a few years ago) that it's one of the first signs of diabetes. (My son had it, but with diet changes it went away)

Take the kids to a good pediatrician.

do you try using exfoliant scrubs or loofah brushes? im not sure if what you and your kids have has to do with the dead skin cells, but if that is the case these could help. they would scrub off the dead cells, hopefully causing cleaner-looking skin to appear? good luck
