You can teach your dog to know the word "leash" by shaking the leash and clearly saying the word "leash" every time you get ready to take the dog for a walk.
If you're looking for a definition, the leash (or the lead) is the thing you clip onto the dog's collar and hold the other end of in your hand.
You can also train your dog to walk on a leash by using treats to reward good behaviour.
