I'm currently stationed in Iraq and when i get back i look foward to getting a dog i'm really intereted in a Boxer, i would like to hear some comments from current or former Boxer owners, help me make my decision.

I have a boxer and she is the most gentle dog in the world. She loves everyone and is real easy to train. She loves kids and is very smart. So to answer your question yes a boxer is an awesome dog to own. But they can get pretty big and when that happens they tend to knock you over easy so be prepared. I would definetly get one. My daughter in Texas just got a full grown Boxer - even good to the pet Rabbit (hard to believe I know). But I believe the Boxer is a real family dog so you just have to be careful to train them not to be too protective.
Other answers are correct, they will need some running room.

Boxers are great animals. They are so cute when they are puppies! Beware of chewing problems, but that's all puppies I guess. They are good with kids and adapt well to new surrondings.
A friend of mine had to move into an apartment recently and his Boxer is doing fine in a smaller place. He just makes sure to get him LOTS of exercise. All dogs benefit from lots of running and play time. Good luck! Glad to hear you'll be coming back home soon~

I don't know much about Boxers but the few I've met are good dogs. They are big so just make sure you get it trained well.
Thank you for serving your country, I just participated in a fund raiser to buy phone cards for you all, it's the least this 4-F person who wanted to be a soldier could do.

My friend had a boxer, and they are smart and loyal and lots of fun. Be sure to have it obedience trained, as you don't want a large dog that doesn't come when you call it, etc. and don't use physical punishment in training.
Be careful out there and come home safe.

Have had Boxers and they are great dogs. Very gentle with kids, but protective of their families. Good choice

boxers make excellent pets. they are incredibly loyal and very loving.
but they do require a lot of love and attention.
