I love green beans with bacon and onion too, but here's something different for you...
"Baked Garlic Green Beans" - 2 servings
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 tsp. cider vinegar
1 tsp. dried minced onion
1 garlic clove; minced
Dash pepper
1 can green beans
1 tbsp. dry bread crumbs
1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. butter; melted
In a small bowl, combine oil, vinegar, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Add beans; toss to coat. Transfer to a greased 3-cup baking dish. Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan and butter; sprinkle over beans. Bake, uncovered, at 350* for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
"Quickie Beef Stew" - 4 servings
1 (16 oz.) can sliced carrots
1 (15 oz.) can whole potatoes
1 (15 oz.) can cut green beans
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (1 1/2 oz.) envelope dry onion soup mix
3 cups cut-up cooked beef
Drain vegetables, reserving liquid. Combine flour and soup mix in large skillet. Add water to reserved liquid to measure 3 cups; stir into mixture in skillet. Heat to boiling; stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in vegetables and beef. Cover; cook over low heat about 10 minutes or until heated through.

Heat the beans (hot) and drain any liquid. Put them in an oven friendly bowl (something easy to clean). Pick a bowl size that allows the beans to be in a mound. Brush mayonnaise over the entire mound of beans (not too thick, you should still see beans poking through) then cover the mound with mild grated Cheddar. I prefer the pre-shredded 4 cheese packages like Mexican 4 cheese. Be generous with the cheese and semi-generous with the mayo. Bake the pre-heated coated bean pile at around 350 degrees until the cheese and mayo melts and starts oozing down through the bean pile. Don't over-bake (crispy cheese can be unsavory). In the event you have a mega-huge bean pile, make two layers (1/2 the beans, coat with mayo & add cheese, repeat). Personally I like lots of cheese and a decent smattering of mayo. The mayo/cheese coating tastes even better on fresh steamed cauliflower or brocolli. It may sound strange but you'll be surprised how good it tastes. The combo makes a new kind of taste I think is quite flavorful and it's easy to make.

place drained green beans in a crockpot with potatoes cut into a large dice, just cover them with water. Place strips of bacon across top of the mixture, cook on high 3-4 hours until potatoes are tender. Salt and pepper to taste.
Add with diced potatoes, onion, peas, corn (any other vegetables you like) to tomato juice and water. Add salt and pepper and cook for a delicous soup.
Mix two cans drained green beans with 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 3/4 cup milk and 1/3 cup french fried onions. Place in baking dish and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Top with 1/2 cup more french fried onions, bake 5 minutes more.

Cut up about 6 strips of bacon into thin slices and put in the bottom of the pan and fry until crisp. Then take about half an onion diced and sautee them along with the bacon and it's grease. Then pour in the cans of green beans. It's ever so tasty!

I love canned green beans! As a matter of fact: I ate them for dinner tonight, plain. All i did was warm them up and put a little fish seasonings on top and salt: the seasonings included: fennel, orange peel, coriander chili pepper and dill weed.
If you wanted to make it warmer: you could sautee these green beans with a little olive oil and seasoning it with the seasonings i suggested! good luck!

cook several pieces of bacon until crispy, remove bacon, in bacon fat cook a small onion (finely chopped), and some minced garlic, add a dash of red vinegar, and a tsp of brown sugar. let that saute, and then add then green beans. cook just enough to heat the beans(since they are canned).

Add a little garlic powder and chicken broth granules. Cook uncovered until liquid is gone, then add more water to cover and cook until it is gone. Serve as a side dish with grilled chicken and mashed potatoes.
