I doubt it would happen, the US and China have their differences but always keep the lines of communication open. Just look at how the spyplane downing was resolved without too much acrimony and US/China cooperation on the North Korea issue.

If it did happen the USA would have more strategic flexibility due to having bases all over the world, and floating bases in the form of aircraft carriers. The fact that the Chinese are dragging their feet developing a carrier fleet says to me that they have no intention of challenging the US Navy. They have a huge army, but they can't march across the Pacific. In the end, the main purpose of that army is keeping the Chinese people in line and bullying Taiwan. It's just not armed with strategic flexibility in mind.

They would take us to the Chinese Laundromat and wipe us out, with precision,no style but lots and lots of and lots of well educated citizen soldiers.
While we stop giving Teachers the pay raises they deserve, but Congress/Senate and every Federal Employee gets a $ raise, the teachers find other jobs.
Cant say as I blame the teachers. I once heard a fella say No child left behind, I reckon he was talking about raise em up and they will see the front lines of battle. GEDs accepted.
They would still wipe us out. As General Douglas MacArthur noted, there are not enough bullets to kill a million people, and that is what they had amassed on the border of Korea.
Totall full scale nuclear exchange there are no winners. And god have mercy on the survivors, as Nikita Kruschev said, after a full scale nuclear exchange the living will envy the dead.

China. If 300 million Chinese die and 300 million Americans die during a war with the two countries, China still has 400-700 million left. America not so fortunate.

Nobody. In a war between us everyone would lose. They have overwhelming forces (they have a population that is over six times larger than ours) and they have a much larger military, troop wise. The only saving grace we may have would be the nukes and if we use em we all lose.

The way we fight no a days...we would get our asses kicked.
Todays military have been turned into policeman and are restricted in the way they fight to win.
Why fight a war if your objective is not to win furiously and quickly.
It's seems stupid to have RULES for war. It's not a game.

Never happen. Neither country is that dumb.

Besides the US is Chinas largest traiding partner, and they are not about to shoot the golden goose.

china is a rising world power-but only in their sector-as powerful as they will become-it would be stupid for them to attack us-at least in the near future.
