Abortion is the worse kind of child abuse. Every abortion kills a innocent human being. We shouldn't kill anyone because they might be abused later in life. There is no way to tell whether or not such a thing will happen, and the fact that some mothers kill their babies after birth doesn't mean that they should have the "right" to kill them before birth as well. If someone is horrified by a baby in a dryer, they should be equally horrified by babies being torn apart limb by limb, while they are still alive and conscious:

By the way, statistics have shown that most abused children were "wanted," and child abuse has increased exponentially since abortion was legalized.

On one side you have the pregnant women who want abortions for whatever reason. Up to a certain point (possibly the end of the first trimaster) a woman should have every right to decide whether she wants her baby or not. It's her body and it should be her decission not the decission of the moral police wan-na-bes. Developing "babies" are not human beings. They are just a group of human cells w/o a conscience. After a point when the baby reaches a mature point then they can be seen as a human with rights.
To answer your question abortion does not protect children at all. It's there for the sole purpose of destroying a pre-human being. There should be a balance between what the woman wants to do for the first part of her pregnancy and the rights of the baby after it's developed into a conscience living being. I do not believe in souls or any other similar opinion. A human being is nothing more than an animal. It should be treated as such.

Just one example: Several months ago in Louisiana a baby was killed by it's own mother in a dryer. Can you image listening to a baby cry, scream, and thump around in a dryer until it draws it's last breath? An abortion would have saved this baby from so much suffering. No child should have to die like that, an early term abortion would have been better, no? I don't support abortion, I support a woman's right to choose. And for the girl above me, people from ALL walks of life have abortions for MANY different reasons.

I can agree that abortion would be a better choice than having a baby then ending its life by putting it in a clothes dryer or dropping it off a bridge but people have this common misconception that abortion is for poor people or for teenagers who want to take care of their "mistake." Many women from different walks of life have abortions. Even affluent women who are married with children already have abortions because they do not want to have another baby at that time in their life. There is no one group of people who have abortions.

It doesn't make any sense that the responsibility to make and raise a baby fall on the shoulders of both parents, while saying the responsibility to let it live only falls on one. If abortion is solely the right of the mother, then birth control should be as well, as that is the ultimate form of birth control, and up until birth, the man has no say on whether a child lives or dies.

Sorry AMY I thought abortions were for rich snotty girls...who kept screwing all the football players and got knocked up but wanted to continue there education and not disappoint mommy and daddy! I think its a cope out either way. Its an excuse. Girls get on here saying oh guys can do it why cant we? well guys skip out on everything there first breath there first cry there first i love you....and you wanna kill them because why? just because a guy left you a single parent doesnt mean anything...Angelina Jolie was a single parent before her and brad pitt hooked it up! Oh yeah and the whole oh my i got raped...is a cop out too..girls get on here all the tim e saying they were raped and kept the baby. Yeah they KEPT it no adoption nothing..they KEPT it....I know it must be hard but they still get through it...so some of you are saying oh it should be there choice..well it wasnt there choice to get accepted by you...SOmetimes there excuse is ..oh what will happen to the child? your soo concerned about the child then why dont you check up on some of them instead of killing them?! just as many kids that have both parents do drugs and get k nocked up as people with single parents.

abortion is there for some smart reasons and some very stupid reasons....abortions are right when a woman was raped and got pregnant, u would not want a baby from a violent disguisting attacker that spoiled your life, but abortions are wrong when 18 year old gets it cuz they r scared to confess to parents...i think family and friend should be supportive about it and let their children know about it before they r pregnant

Adoption agencies are so available that killing a child as opposed to allowing it to find a loving home is unethical. There's no reason to support abortion under the pretense that it "saves" lives. There are too many other alternatives.

They are human. But if a teenager (either by rape or mistake) gets pregnant, she can't necessarily afford to take care of the child. Plus, who knows what kind of life that child may lead? Can you imagen yourself, a grown adult, sitting down with your parents, and listening to them tell you that you were born because your biological mother was raped? That you were never wanted to begin with? That you were put up for adoption because the woman who gave birth to you couldn't stand to look at you?
