It has been going on for at least half a century. "Happy Holidays" is meant to be all inclusive. The people who think it is an attack on Christmas are the usual lunatic fringe, uneducated, unthinking batch of Nascar fans that you would expect.

A couple of years ago I was purchasing some things in a store, there was a line of people behind me. The checker finished making my change and said "Happy Holidays". I said to him "Are you a Christian" and he said that he was. Then I said (and this is quite true) "I've noticed that my Muslim friends, my Jewish friends and my Buddhist friends, my Sikh friends all wish everybody a 'Merry Christmas' but my Christian friends, wanting to be PC all say 'Happy Holidays'" The people in line started chatting back and forth with me and everybody agreed that this was happening to them as well. How about you?

Yeah, I don't understand, first people complain about the over commercialization of Christmas (see Linus circa Merry Christmas Charlie Brown) and then they complain that stores try to back off, respect all their customer's beliefs and wish everyone a happy holiday. Since when does a banner or sale name affect Christian's worship of their holy savior of man? And how would "attacking" that be in a company's best interest? It's just a silly trick meant to strike a nerve with talk show viewers. Nobody's attacking Christmas.

My how selfish and lacking of compassion we can be-Christians have dictated societal norms (particularly in the US) to the elimination of all other aspects. I have no problem buying my "holiday" presents from anyone that supports the diversity that exists. If this had been done to begin with it would be the "norm" and no one would think twice about it.

I celebrate CHRISTMAS but if I choose to celebrate winter Winter Solstice, Ramadan (when celebrated in the traditional 12th month), Kwanzaa or Hanukkah I should be able to see symbols of all of these celebrations or none at all. It is because of such ignorance that I never knew of anything but Winter Solstice and Christmas until I became an adult.

Being culturally ignorant is not good it is just insensitive and is yet another way to create separation. When will we learn that everything can be done in many ways and we all still reap the benefits.

I feel honored to in my lifetime to know (or have known) someone who celebrated all of these rich traditional cultural traditions.

Yes, I think it SUCKS! Christmas has been around for many years, and is cherished and enjoyed by a great many families all around the world, and suddenly it's almost becoming "taboo" to even say the word Christmas! It's ridiculous. I think it's an example of the rising tide of anti-religious feeling in this country.

I don't care what companies call it. If I want to buy something, I choose a store based on service, prices, location, etc., but not advertising

Christians should not step back and be overrun by antagonizing positions from vindictive folks. Merry Christmas to ALL!

It makes no difference to me, as long as the prices are low, the supply is in stock, and the business is satisfying.
