If stem cell research can be done without harming a single fetus, would you be for it or opposed to it? 90% of stem cells can come from an umbilical cord instead of an aborted fetus. That being said, do you still believe that it is immoral? Why?

Assume that no babies (born or unborn) will be harmed for the sake of stem cell research. Are you still opposed to it?

Sunestauromai, there is no need to yell. When you capitalize WORDS IN YOUR SENTENCE, it is the same thing as YELLING! It IRRITATES EVERYONE who READS your POST and makes you LOOK DUMB.

Try capitalizing in a civilized and grammatically correct fashion if you are going to respond to my questions.

No, of course not. There are basically 5 sources for stem cells. Embryos, fetuses, umbilical cord blood, bone marrow, and organs. Only 2 of those destroy life. Amazing medical treatments are already being made using adult stem cells, none using embryonic cells as yet. Embryonic stem cell research is flashy and makes the drug companies look good, but the treatments are coming from adult cells. Also, contrary to popular belief, it IS possible to coax adult cells to become different cells in the body. I used to be believed only embryonic cells could do.

MOST HONEST scientists, along with the bio-tech giants that stand to make BILLIONS on ANY positive outcome, think nothing OF VALUE will come from EMBRYONIC stem cell research.

People are STILL mis-quoting the bill that President Bush vetoed. It JUST said FEDERAL money could not be spent on the research.

Embryonic stem cell research IS BEING DONE IN THE USA RIGHT NOW. The bill has NO EFFECT on PRIVATELY FUNDED RESEARCH, OTHER THAN ELIMINATING GOVERNMENT FUNDED OPPOSITION TO ANY POSITIVE OUTCOME PRIVATE RESEARCHERS MIGHT FIND.

Several M.D.'s in government have been interviewed about the topic recently. I have heard 5 interviews and NONE thought any good would come from EMBRYONIC research. There are just too many holes in the proponents claims.

The scientists say they see no good result from stem cell research because nothing has appeared to be accomplished in any way by the stem cell. Why pay so much money into something the Doctors do not think will work? Why fund a pipe dream of some unlearned persons?

As far as I am concerned, let them have stem cell research on their own money and leave mine alone because there is not a hint that it will work.

Embryonic stem cell research has done nothing. Adult stem cells is proving beneficial. Getting growth and repair from the cells in bone marrow has assisted in restoring eyesight and blood flow in other parts of the body.

Adult stem cell I can believe is moral. Embryonic is not.

The only thing immoral about stem-cell research is killing or harming a fetus to do it. If a fetus is not harmed or killed then it is not immoral.

So no not all kinds of stem-cell research is immoral.

I do not see why we can not use other cells besides Embryonic Stem Cells. Why push the conceiving of babies just to kill them. It is totally wrong. Use the adult cells or the umbilical cells.

Stem Cell researchers require women to donate their eggs to them. Honestly, it's nothing like abortions and I don't really see it as wrong.

Because if you legalize stem cell research they will use aborted babies. They will tell you anything you want to hear until the law is approved, then they will do anything they want.
