It sounds to me as if you have become ill with ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. You need to get a diagnosis and treatment. Go to your Doctor for help.

It could be an illness and it could just be a stump in your routine. How long has this change been? When did it occur and what was going on then? If it is a lifestyle change due to a change in employment or family or school, then it could be just a down time. I don't know how long this has been going on or how you feel when you are home. I often feel the same way and do those exact same things when I am not working. So, for some people that is normal. I feel guilty and lazy too when I do that, but other people don't. It just depends on what you feel and what you expect of yourself--not what others expect of you. I think that eating healthier and walking will help you not gain the weight, even if you don't want to go back to the gym right away. If you are feeling depressed you should see your doctor. Believe me--my lifestyle has changed dramatically in that way before and I still act that way when I am not working. But I also have anxiety problems and depression. I think if you have to get up and do those things you use to do that you probably would. It sounds to me like your lifestyle has changed in someway that you no longer have to make yourself do those things and now you may have to find another source/outlet to encourage yourself to find a new routine that best suits you, your health and your emotional well-being. Good luck and don't be too hard on yourself. Take it in small steps and one day at a time. Reward yourself for doing even small tasks.

i am answerer number 8 and plenty more to go for advice. take the advice you like or all -- it simply does not matter. we are most of us in the same boat, whether it will sink or not -- no one knows. some situations are different, there are days when you can change the world and there are other days where you do not care who the hell changes this world. this is part of life. I wish and we wish we knew -- yes, there are physical exhaustion and mental exhaustion phases in our delicate body. when one is turned off it affects the other one. the therapy is different for each person. nature helps. walking helps. sports helps. too much eating does not help. friends help. love helps. encouragement helps. criticism does not help. family love helps. hatred does not help. the list is endless. everyone's case is different and in fact the creator made every one of us different not only from the very first start -- but later on in life to react to conditions of life. stress is very bad, anxiety the same. now go and take a hot tea -- make it herb tea -- and try to take life that passes by one day at a time. whatever will be will be. hope it helps.

I think you are right to consider that this may be an illness. It could be physical or emotional. If you have a complete medical checkup with no abnormal results, it might be worth your while to see a counselor and find out if you might be suffering from depression. People with this problem often have very low energy and change their habits in an effort to relieve their tiredness. Good luck.

For some reason, my friend, you are experiencing depression. I believe 3/4 of Americans are depressed, so you aren't alone. Not by a long shot. Once you have gotten your feet back under you, then you can begin to climb out of that dark hole of despair...go towards the light. But, yeah, you need to talk to either your primary doctor or go see a pscyhologist.
