No, there is no god.
The only thing there is to believe in, is yourself.

No one can tell you what to believe in. That is something you have to figure out on your own. You don't have to go to church to believe in something. I can only tell you my personal opinion and what I believe in-you make your own decisions.
I was brought up Cathloic. I still believe in God & all that-but I do not believe in one specific religion, such as Catholic. I too have faced many things in my life that have made me question what's real and what isn't. I still am not 100% sure what is real, and I never will til I die. I believe that God is watching us-and everything happens for a reason. I got really heavily into drugs as a teenager, and drinking, partying all nite-didn't believe in anything. I got pregnant to the first guy I ever had sex with, and he disappeared. I didn';t relly care so I continued to do all the drugs, etc. Because of this, combined with stress, I had a miscarriage and was told that I would never be a mother. At the time this didn't really bother me. As I got older, it devistated me. Turns out doctors aren't always right. When I was 20, i found out i was pregnant with twins! I cleaned up, I've been with my husband for 6 years, and my boys are 4. Just recently, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. The drs think they caught it early enough-he's had 1 surgery, and has just started chemotherapy, I ask myself, why is God doing this to me? I lost my grandmother, and my aunt, and almost lost my father to cancer. I really don't know if anyone is doing this to me or not-but you have the need to blame someone-who better than spomeone you can't see? Or someone who may not have ever exhisted? Truth i, whether you believe in God has nothing to do with if you weather the storm or not. It's you own attitude. Tomorrow is another day. Life is so short, it can be taken away from us at any time. Don't worry abvout what to believe in. Worry about living each day like it was you last one here-that's what is important. Also, I have had many other experiences that make me feel that something higher than us must be watching over us. When I was 4 I was hit by a car. My heart stopped beating at the scene fo 5 minutes. My cousin was 2 cars behind the 1 that hit me. She did CPR, and my heart started beating. I have major trauma to my head-was in a coma for 4 days. The specialists claimed that if I ever came out of the coma, I would be brain damaged & never walk again-wrong. When things like that happen-you know that someone-be it God, aliens, whatever!- is watching. Hope this helps.

I can understand very well where you are at, at times I feel the same way...it is natural to do so.

You ask, "Is there a god?" (little "g")Yes, there are many. you can make anything your god; be it money, fame, companionship or anything else you want to make your god.

However there is a real God (big "G") and He loves you very much! Many people today want to say there is no God...no Creator of the universe yet I say this...If there was no intelligence behind the universe or this earth how could we exist? The earth sits at an exact angle. change it by even one degree and portions of the earth would freeze solid and all life would die. Other parts would burn up and all life would die. The amount of oxygen in the atmosphere is just at the right amount to sustain life. and that is just two reasons why there is a God. Also, anything left on its own will go from order to disorder and never the other way around. Even life itself. the chances of it occurring naturally is 1X10^123. even the scientist agree that any thing over 1X10^50 is an impossibility. I do not have the room here to explain it all mathematically.

Know this though...if you were to die today wouldn't you like to know that there is a loving God who sent His only Son and says that if you believe in His Son you will know His love and live with Him forever. If you fail to know His son then you will live but not in a pleasant place.

There are many of you that will scoff at my writing, that is alright do so and give me thumbs down if you disagree, but you can not fool the loving God of this universe for even a moment of time,,,,and KNOW that God loves you regardless.

You are an intelligent person, so God is giving you a bigger challenge than most people. This has nothing to do with a church, it's between you and him. The Creator also wants us all to do a job and that job is feel some pain. The pain we acquire down here we will take back to Heaven, this will give us a measuring tool for pleasure, then we will know that Heaven feels good. I'll pray for you to have the strength to past this test.

Sounds as though you need more than just to believe in God - sounds more like you need Jesus and to rely on Him more...

Seems to me the main problem EVERYONE has is that our sins separate us from having a relationship with Him... Well, the good news is He's willing to forgive us! And, more importantly, not only every sin of our past, but ALL our sins of our life will be forgiven...! Jesus paid the penalty for them with His death on the cross... Because He rose again, you can, too!
And no, this isn't license to go out and sin all you want!

He'll bring you into His FAMILY - a very KEY point! We're talking about relationships here! Relationships need development and care and are to be maintained... You see, you now have a whole lot of brothers and sisters you didn't have before and God becomes your heavenly Father and Jesus - your Brother and God Himself comes to live within you...!

Read the gospel of John - the 4th book of the New Testament in the Bible - and talk to God privately in your room about it and all the other concerns you have about life here in this world... He'll listen because He loves and cares for you (even now)...

There is a loving God that loves you! Jesus Christ is very real and wants to be Lord of your life. He will not force himself on you, you have to come to him. I have never met a person who has never heard about Jesus Christ. You have more than likely heard that you must be born again. A person can pray until they are blue in the face and not be heard by God if they haven't been born again. Read your Bible and talk with a true Christian about living the Christian life. God will help you with the problems you are having, but only if you are one of his. To be born again you must first believe that there is a God, and that Jesus Christ is his Son. That Jesus Christ Died for you. Ask him for forgiveness of your sins and invite Him into your heart to be Lord and Savior. If you are sincere God will know.

I hope I have helped. There really is a Loving God. You will know once you become born again, because God will put his Holy Spirit into you, as a helper. Once you have been truly born again you will know what every true Christian is so excited about.

I can sit here for hours and tell you about God, but it's up to you to believe. the Bible says that we are to have faith as a child. children DO believe in things without having to be proven or seen. many things exist and we never see them. have you ever seen an idea? no? yet they exist. have you ever seen the wind? no, but you do see the effects of the wind.. for a Christian they seen the effects of God. seeing doesn't always lead to believing.

the problem is, most people never seek God out until they are losing everything around them. in good times they don't even think of him. that's why it's important to know him and what you believe before the bad times hit.
I am so sorry for the bad times you are going through, and you will be in my prayers. in the last few months I lost 2 very close people too.. I lost a brother in September (he was murdered and his murderer will never spend one day in jail) and 3 months later I lost my 21 year old niece to the flu. after suffering financial blows, we are close to losing everything. does God exist? yes.
but through the heart breaks and let downs, and when I am the weakest, I find that I focus on his strength, not mine.. to get through day by day. I hope you will find him and hold on when the storms of life blow through again.

There is a God. Sometimes it is just a matter of finding others who believe that God can shine a light when things look the darkest. This is simplistic. I know. But, if you are up against the wall, perhaps this is the time to seek a higher power. You may have done all that can be done. Not a whole lot of details in your question. Don't lose hope. If you find the right church, it can make a difference in your life.

It's Tuesday night. Try calling a church either now or tomorrow (Wed are big church activity days).
If you can't, go to Walmart or a bookstore now and buy a bible appropriate for your age. Regardless of how old you are, student bibles are good for their articles and ease of use. Read it! You will probably find a story similar to yours and related scripture.
Pray- to God, and yes He does exist. Just start talking as you would to any friend. You will be surprised how much better you will feel.
Get to church though- a Christian church.
Hang in there. You will make it.

While in turmoil, it is very difficult to find light. Take small steps toward healing; do not try to understand everything at once. Yes, there is a reality behind the word and the many concepts of, "God". It doesn't matter whether you can see it or not, believe in it anyway. Rather than allow yourself to be disheartened, just become more determined.

Believe in that part of you that still has courage (it is there, you just might have to dig for it); be stubborn in your faith, however small it might seem; never give up. That part of you is invisible, yet you can feel it.

"The courage of the faithful is courageous because it knows there is nothing to fear." --We Who Dream.

Start by believing in what you can see. Watch yourself move and do little things. Go out into nature and listen. Notice what you can hear and see around you, and how beautiful it is, and how beautiful you are to hear it and see it, for you are part of it. Watch yourself succeed at little things like washing the dishes or sweeping the floor or walking down the street. It is in your thoughts that you are losing, while in the little things in life you are succeeding very well. Notice more of the latter and pay less attention to what you are thinking, and you can work your way out of it into balance and harmony once again.
