Get out your title you'll need that for sure. Draft up a bill of sale that states that the vehicle is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Both you and the buyer need to sign - not required in most cases but in your best interest....

The title, if you own it or if financed you will have to go to the lender and pay off any balance due with the money you get from the buyer and they will take care of getting the title for the buyer. Before signing the back of the title both your signatures have to be notorized( witnessed by a notary public, which most banks offer free for their customers) or you can go to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and sign everything there and they can get the new title right there and buy their plates or if there is a delay in the process get a temp. tag. DO NOT SIGN THE BACK OF THE TITLE WITHOUT WITNESS TO BOTH SIGNATURES

Well it depends on what state you are in. Of course most need a title, and sometimes a Bill of sale. Call your local vehicle dept.

In maximum places the deal is "client pay attention" So if the guy did no longer get a mechanic to envision it earlier he offered it, this is his difficulty. you're actually not a mechanic or a broking and could't be estimated to be conscious of a difficulty could be coming with the engine. that they had could desire to teach you intentionally misled him and knew a pair of pre-exisitng difficulty. the load of evidence is his. The criminal expert is a scare tactic, i could overlook approximately it. Oh, and now that he has lawyered up on you? do no longer consult with him anymore. No telephone calls, no emails. Say no longer the rest.

You need a title. On the back of it should be spaces for the buyer and seller to fill out and sign.

You will need to have the title. If you don't have it, you can file for a lost title with your state.
