i'm not to sure of the difference, but it depends on the baby's personality... but from my experiance, boys are more fussy as infants, rather than girls, but as they age girls become more fussy during young childhood...

You asked about RAISING boys vs. girls not just about how they are as babies right? If so, boys are muuuuch easier. The average boy is not complicated. He wants the 6 or so things he wants, you can predict their behavior generally. Girls are complicated from the begining. They are truly little women in training. Early on they understand human relationships and all that goes along with that. They truly do mature faster which brings its own set of problems.

I have two girls ages 9 and 3 and my brother has 2 boys ages 4 and 1. According to our mother, boys are harder the first 12 years and girls are easier the first 12 years. Then it swaps, boys get easier in their teens as girls get more difficult. I guess we shall see :-)

to respond to what that eah guy said. He's right. i learned in college sociology that male infants are more emotional or fussy. However, because the males in our culture are supposed to be less emotional the parents reprimand the boys when they cry. So, the little guys are taught to suppress their emotions. however, on the other side of things, they allow the female infants to cry since girls are supposedly the more emotional of the sexes.
I know I'm not the best writer but I hope I get the point across.

I have not had kids, but it seems it just depends on the personality of the kid. Typically girls go through more emotional states, which could be hard and frustrating on the parents. They also typicallly want more accessories, clothes...etc. But in the long run both boys and girls want these things.

They both have their pros and cons.

My daughter was sooo easy compared to my son. He is much more whiny and clingy. So in my experience, girls are much easier.

I don't have kids, but I've heard that boys are harder when they're babies and toddlers, because they're more squirmy, hyper, whiny, and reckless. But i heard girls are harder when they're teens, because they're more gossipy, hormonal, moody, and secritive, and they're more prone to problems like eating disorders and depression. But it totaly depends on the kid.
